Hello! I've recently returned to this game after a long time away, and I'm finally getting around to trying something I've been meaning to for a while, shiny hunting! Problem is, I have no idea how it works, or what the best method is. I don't really care about shiny chains (I also don't have a clear idea about what they are, rip), I just want to get a shiny Pokemon that I can't seem to find in either the Auction House or Global Trade Station.

If someone could give me some advice, or point me to a useful thread, the help would be immensely appreciated!

How it works on PokeHeroes is, that you buy the PokeRadar. And then you will hatch the Pokemon you want to Shiny Hunt (e.g. Pikachu). Every hatched Pikachu will count towards your chain, increasing your chance of hatching a Shiny. But if you hatch a Pokemon different from Pikachu, it will break your chain and you have to start over again.

Its best to use this tool to find out which Pokemon eggs won't break your chain. Like @Mirej said, if you want to shiny hunt Squirtle, hatch only Squirtle eggs from either Daycare/Gem collector/Tall Grass. If you hatch any other Pokemon from daycare, such as Pikachu, it will break your chain.

Premium members cannot have their chain broken. I am currently shiny hunting Gastly, so if I hatch a Rattata from Tall Grass/Gem Collector/Daycare, my chain will not break, but I will have my Gastly chain replaced with a Rattata chain of 1.

Basically everything that is not listed there. One example would be the rewards from the Advent Calendar, or Game Center Prize Exchange

Ok. Thanks for the answer.

I have another question. If I breed eggs in the Daycare is radar show me shiny or mega able pokemon after scanning it on the Daycare page?

Is it shown next to scanned eggs (shiny or mega symbol) on Daycare page?

No, scanning the eggs in the Daycare will only show which Pokemon will hatch from it. I think mega-able/shiny is determined upon hatching, so you can't know which egg hatches shiny or not (except for the special ones like Hoopa, because you can't chain them with the Pokeradar, every 50th hatches shiny). Hatching shinies/mega-ables is a game of pure luck :)
