These most recent occurrences were too much for the woman to handle, who vanished from sight with a look of total fear. A moment later, the window in the roof of the building shattered, glass spraying everywhere. Grace let out a cry of pain as shards dug into her skin. The "opening" she had kept her eyes on apparently wasn't actually an opening. Wings, clothes, and hair tangled in the metal framework, she struggled to free herself, but the more she writhed, the more the wreckage dug into her. She was still invisible, but the blood she left on the glass was not.

Grace had been shoved out of the glass minefield of a window and landed atop something oddly dark floating in mid air. She was a panicky mess, being cut up, terrified, and weak from exercising these abilities again so soon. Her “force field” of altered light that made it appear as if she weren’t truly there had become patchy, and she was forced to drop it. In her head ran thoughts of, I knew it, and, He WAS lying.
Rolling off the black cushion holding her up, she plummeted the remaining couple of feet, not even having the presence of mind to catch herself. With a metallic sound between a bang and a clunk, she landed on her back, wings bearing the brunt of the impact. They weren’t so much as dented, but due to their being connected to her body with artificial nerves and synapses, it did quite hurt.
Rolling over, she noticed the open, golden ring, and immediately forced herself to her feet, making for it at the pace of a stumbling, clumsy run. Blood trickled from a gash along her cheek, as well as several on her arms, legs, and abdomen, her clothing torn were the glass had sliced through. The rift opened up into a huge field of rubble. The man from before was standing a little ways off, so she darted to the right, wanting to avoid him at all costs. All the same, this whole time she’d been running a little track in her mind, deciphering just what it meant if it were 2020. Wow, 12 years. She was 21.
She'd tried to yank free of him but been too weakened by the use of her powers to create much resistance. All she had been able to think of was her own terror, which overwhelmed all of her other senses. Grace had slipped back into that dull, barely awake daze that had kept her sane back when she'd been a prisoner in the laboratory; her eyes were wide open but barely took in anything, all sound was muffled and far away, any pain dulled. In fact, she didn't notice what he'd done until after he'd left.
Blinking the fog from her eyes, she realized that, contrary to her expectations, the pain had gone away instead of increasing. A bandage was wrapped around her left arm, and she was laying on a soft, bed-like piece of furniture. The woman sat up slowly, surprised. He'd... not hurt her. More doubts began to crowd in about the man's benevolence, but even she knew they were unreasonable. Swinging her legs off of the thing she had been moved onto with a grimace, she shoved away her desperate need to keep away from others and called softly after the departing figure, "Thank you."
“Oi, Mr Strange? Who’s this woman here?” She asked, comparing the photo to one of herself, before she dyed her hair or wore contact lenses. She looked exactly like a mini version of that woman
