MineGames (RP)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → MineGames (RP)A long time ago in the world of Minecraft things were good. Peace and harmony ruled and people could go about their business but came the war that nearly wiped out humanity. In order to maintain the hard-earned peace, 12 boys and 12 girls, called Tributes, are put in an outdoor arena where they remain to compete in a nationally televised event called the MineGames. The rules are simple: Keep the audience entertained and stay alive by any means necessary.
Every citizen must watch as the youths fight for survival against death until only one remains or a full year has passed. Your job is to survive the Games for as long as you can in hopes of escape.
(So one thing I forgot to post in the sign-ups was that despite being in Minecraft not everything is a block or flat. So round does exist, think of it as real life.)
It was a warm day in July, almost too warm for one's comfort. People were getting ready to head to the town hall for the MineGames "Selection" would take place.
Akane and Leaf were helping each other getting ready. Leaf was wearing a modest green dress and a pair of flats while Akane was wearing a canvas jacket with a tanktop underneath and a pair of jeans, and her work boots.
Melody was still bathing as she got ready.
Rae was staring at a lantern. People ignored her, for they were afraid of triggering something. Her obsession with fire was a well known fact. Her insanity? Even more well known. She has a long cruel looking red blade dangling from her belt. It was dripping blood. No doubt she had been in the woods earlier, slaughtering away at animals.
Silver was picking at a blade of grass. She was very bored but had to pretend she was at least a little bit mentally present. Silver was ADHD and it was obvious by the way she moved. Her limbs were full of energy, and she was very athletic. She was very good with metal as well, and had a ring on her finger that she twisted with her free hand. At the age of 14, she was on the younger side but you couldn't tell by her body. She was pretty tall for her age, so she was often mistaken for someone older then she was.

"Does the name Timothy sound familiar?" Kayda asks, her voice comes out sounding like a purr- a cat who had trapped her prey. The boy tries to answer, but it comes out as a choked gasp when she kneels down so that they face to face. "Hmph, by that reaction I would say yes-" she pauses to wipe her bloodied knuckles on some cloth. "Now, I would imagine you are planning on leaving him alone for now on right?" She tosses the cloth at the boy, who reacts too slowly and gets hit in the face by it.
"You have some nerve, why did you decide to jump me? Why today?" The boy growls.
"I find that humiliation is a great motivator, everyone will get to see how weak you are today. If looks aren't enough, I'll be sure to share the news." Kayda moves towards the door, she gives the boy one last mocking smile. "I'll see you at the picking for the Minegames" she says with a wink before leaving.
...
It doesn't take long for Kayda to get ready. She wears the same attire she usually wears. A loose but menacing dark outfit. It shows off the rose tattoo covering her shoulder and neck. She choose a rose tattoo for a reason. It was beautiful, but dangerous, exactly the reputation she wanted. Now she had to do one thing. Wait. There was no reason for her to be early for this thing. It was pretty unlikely that she would be chosen, so she wasn't too stressed out.
The sound of an infant's wail shook through the house, waking Cora from her sleep. With a groan, she sat up and put her cyan beanie on her "hair" and stumbled downstairs half awake. Her mother was trying to calm her baby sister, who at the moment appeared to be a cyan squid. Her mother gently rubbed Coraline's head as Coraline gave her mother a weary smile and grabbed her fanny pack that contained her many various Weapons that she had would use. (Meaning the Splatoon weapons.)
Akane and Leaf walked in together holding each other's hand to calm the other's nerves, yet trying to be somewhat discrete about it.
Melody was wearing a gossamer's gown and knee-high boots as she sauntered up to teh city's square.
Coraline walked up behind Kayda (unknowingly) as she headed to the square, keeping her head down to avoid any unessisay contact.
Feathers lightly brush Kayda's face as her form slowly dissipates and turn into an assortment of sparrows. It's a horrifying sight, watching a human slowly, and quite literally, crumble down piece by piece; where flesh, bone, muscle, and meat should be, instead is a living creature. It's painful too, not the shifting part- the controlling part. Her power is interesting, she really only has full control of only a few birds, the rest act as clones, perfectly copying every move of the one it's mimicking. Her brain and conscience are literally ripped apart into pieces as she focuses on her multiple new forms, forcing it to carefully fly above and around Coraline. She tries to act natural, carefully landing on branches at times. But it wouldn't surprise her if Coraline took notice to the random flock of sparrows tailing her.
Taking a deep breath, Kayda lands behind a group of kids her age. They scoff when they notice Kayda reappearing in her human form behind them. Whispers move through the group as she quite rudely bursts through the middle of the group instead of politely walking around them. She turns around, loose strands of hair falling into her face as she gives them a challenging glare.
"You have something to say? Say it to my face" Kayda growls, she crosses her arms and gives them a firm stare.
"Nothing, we have nothing to say to you" one of the girls responds bravely, her confidence rising as armed men take notice of them. Kayda's jaw tightens as she holds back biting words, now was not the time to cause a dispute. As Kayda nears the stage she notices something curious. Eyes had fallen upon her, and it was from those who she wouldn't want to get attention from. Peacemakers. She turns away from them, pretending to not notice their stares. Dread fills her gut as her eyes land on the two jars. Something felt off about this, and her intuition was rarely incorrect.
He was still falling, and she wasn't fully prepared to stop it. Her arms buckle under his weight, which brings her down with him. Fortunately, she manages to roll out of his way just in time, which saves her from further embarrassment.
Her face somehow manages to turn even redder when she loses her footing as she tries to stand up, which would've sent her tumbling down again if not for the fact that she managed to regain her footing just in time.
She slowly stands up, her eyes fixated on Tenacity with a look of rage. What should she do with him? A fight was a no go, there were Peacemakers everywhere, and she could tell by looking at him that he was not someone to underestimate. Still, she was desperate to do something, especially if it meant regaining some of her lost pride.
"Watch where you are going" she snaps. She cringes slightly, what a cliché remark, she could usually come up with a more wise-a*s remark but it was too late for that.
The silence was deafening, it had drawn out a moment too long, that realization was enough to shake Kayda back into reality. She unclenches her fists, having now just realized that they were clenched, anticipating a fight. "Watch yourself" she says threateningly, then pauses, she shouldn't be acting this aggressive, it was a mistake after all. "Learn to control those" she adds with forced kindness as she gestures to his wings.

It was a rather strange memory, in that moment, Tenacity would feel every feeling she felt. Her anger, her cunning ways of fighting, and lastly- her fear. The slightest tremble in her hands and knees as she faces a target who should've been able to defeat her easily. Her instincts screaming for an escape, as she continued to fight the bully.
Her eyes widen in surprise as what was happening suddenly dawns on her. "How did you-?"
(Everyone does their own characters, girls first then we'll jump back and do the boys.)
"Akane Stone." "Leaf Gartha." Akane and Leaf looked at each other in worry.
"Melody." Melody looked up at the cameras as they trained on her face, it was hard to read her expression.
"Coraline Cyan." The color drained from her face.
