What's the quickest method to level up your trainer level? Also ways to level it up?

Here's the wiki page on trainerlevel for you. It should help you out.

I suppose simply adopting and hatching eggs while interacting actively seems like a good stable way of leveling up while filling your pokedex. (Hatching rarer eggs give you more trainerpoints so that's something to keep in mind while at it.)

Well, yes and no. A higher trainerlevel unlocks different places/activities which get you access to some rarer pokemon. (For example, the Safari Zone and the Emera Beach) The wiki page I linked also has details on what you unlock at which levels.

But a higher level doesn't alter what pokemon you get from the lab for example. In case that's what you were wondering.

Interacting a lot and hatching eggs constantly are the "easiest" ways to get a lot of Trainerpoints.

Dont forget to claim your dp when interacting, since sending plushies helps a lot aswell later on, when your dream-level is high and you get more dp per task :)
