A yelp escaped Kieran's mouth as one of those creatures noticed
Kieran. He ran away, not in the same direction as Melody, so as to
not direct the one following him to her, and the other two humans
in that direction... By their scent, they were the same two that
were in the house with the giant serpent... what a coincidence! No
time to dwell on coincidences though. Kieran darted away through
the undergrowth.
However, the zombie monsters were faster than anticipated,
eventually, Kieran found himself running in the direction towards
melody, where even more of the monsters were gathered. Finally,
Kieran was cornered against a few trees in a clearing, and noticed
the humans on the other side of it.
The creatures were picking up speed, and heading for the tree. With
loud groans, they shook the tree and Melody lost her balance,
falling with a scream and hitting the ground. She sprang up, but
the creatures grabbed her and with a firm grip, started to drag her
away. One was still shaking the tree, trying to grab Charlie.
Winnie silently gasped at the horrendous creatures. She quickly
looked around for something to distract them from the girl and
Charlie, and her eyes caught sight of a tiny rock on the forest
floor. Instinctively, she picked in up, and threw it at the group
of zombies. This did catch the attention of some of them, but now
it was on her. Winnie gulped, slowly beginning to back away.
The sunset glowed warmly against the tree Kieran began to climb. It
would be a beautiful sight... if he wasn't escaping these
creatures. As he noticed Melody fall from a nearby tree, Kieran
wished he could transform into his human form right now to help,
but sadly, that wasn't possible. One good thing about being in this
form was that he was an expert climber, and it was hard for himself
to fall. He was still concerned about the humans though, and felt a
cold shiver run down his spine.
He finally roused slowly, groaning “what the h-e double hockey
sticks happened?” He groaned, clicking his pincers slowly, and
slithering off the cafateria’s crushed remains
Not knowing how to help, Kieran stayed put in his cradle of
branches, still as a rock. He honestly felt a little useless, but
there was nothing to do about it. He watched uncomfortably as the
others struggled to escape the zombies.
The Zombies were dragging their captives to a large clearing full
of them, groaning and moaning. There was someone else there, but
they were unrecgonizable.
Winnie sprinted as fast as she could away from the zombies,
mimicking the zig-zag pattern Charlie was doing. She was outrunning
them at the moment, but only by a very small margin, which was
quickly getting smaller.
Kieran hopped from tree to tree, finding the clearing chock full of
them. Hopping back a few trees, he barked at the zombies, hoping to
distract them from Winnie, Charlie and Melody. Maybe it would work
a little...?
The zombies ignored Kerian, instead focusing on the shadowy figure.
A signal from the unknown entity caused two of them to stumble off
towards Kerian. The figure stepped forward. He was clad similarly
to a medieval general, though his eyes shown brighter, and he spoke
in a high raspy voice. "Yess...Yess...we have tributes."
Part of him hoped that the zombies wouldn't be after a "raccoon
dog", but maybe they could sense he wasn't really one? He tried to
squirm out as one of the zombies grabbed him with surprising
agility. However, his escape attempts were to no avail. He was
brought in before the figure... ack, he reminded Kieran of
stereotypical mastermind villains. Was he a necromancer of some
sort...? Kieran wasn't sure. He was more focused on wiggling out of
the firm grasp of the zombie clutching him.
