Honestly, I'd only give partial support for the reasons that Cherry_Blossom and ~razpberry outlined.

Yes, it does kinda suck having such a limited time to get the retros, during Halloween or Christmas for eg but those events DO come up regularly so I would not support retros like those being made available through rumbles. I would also be hesitant to give support for the pokemon made available during Berry Battles. Yes, I understand there are two different battles that occur, each with a different prize pool but they are meant to be a prize. Something to work for!

Something to be excited by.

If these were made available through Rumbles, it would lower the excitement and they certainly wouldn't be much of a prize come the next Berry Battle.

Besides, if you want to use the argument of being only available for a limited time during a once a year event (or every 2nd year with Berry Battle alternating) then you may as well use the same argument to make Mew more widely accessible and that would just take away from it being special.

However, I fully support the retros from the Retro Radar being released through rumbles or some other method. Even if not one of the existing maps, then another special map available through an event like Route 102/Burnt Tower and why? Because the Retro Radar has only been available once. During an event known to chop and change to something new every year (except last year where it did not happen at all.)

These six pokemon simply aren't available any other way, much like the Pokeball Vivilion was only available through one long past event until it was implemented into the Berry Battle a few years ago.

Yes, they're rare and that is a point but at this stage, they are almost, if not impossible, to get. People that have them either only have the one set they are not willing to get rid of because it's special to them and they would otherwise have none or they have quit or they are perma banned and couldn't sell/pass it on even if they wanted to.

Let me say I like this being discussed. Though I gave the basic idea I'm aware it needs to be polished. Said that, here come some thoughts regarding what I've read so far:

1) First of all I want to clarify something. There's a huge difference between saying "all of them must be in rumble areas" and saying "in case that they go all to rumble areas how it could be done."
At least that's how I see it.

2) Regarding retro price drop and retros becoming worthless:
Sorry but I disagree with people giving more importance to this point. I truly believe it is more important to give a chance to obtain those pokemon to people who didn't had the chance to play events like the retro radar game because they registered after it was over.
And for the other retros, those not obtained in that disappeared game, I don't think the price will change that much. Let's be honest, aside the first year of their release, none of the retro events have a high value with the pass of the years (if not try to sell one retro gastly at high price... and it has be available just twice!)

3) Regarding retro radar pokes:
I think most of the people who commented agreed that they need to be redistributed somehow, aside those who were more worried about their price drop, thing I already answered in previous point.

4) Regarding event retros:
The main idea had 2 possible purposes:
a) Give a chance to renew the rewards.
Maybe I've been playing for too long here, but I'm not excited at all to get again the same retros over and over, year after year.
But if suddenly (another example), in the appricorn battle "retro marill" is not distributed anymore but it is replaced by "retro weedle", sending the discarded retro to rumble would be a great idea.
b) Rewards not being renewed and keeping them as they are
What I'm proposing here doesn't pretend to decrease the motivation to play the event, on the contrary, to improve the interest.
Playing events with doubled shiny ratio than in the rumble areas (if it were implemented) would make old players be more interested in playing the official events than they are now.

Honestly, there's only 2 reasons why retro's aren't being used...

1) They don't have any special abilities from the regular versions, and

2) THEY DON'T EVOLVE

I have really bad experiences getting a retro cyndaquil to level 200 hoping for it to evolve (foolish me)

Maybe if they gave evolved versions of retros (Or made them evolvable which is even better) it would work.

As of now, Retro's don't really have that much of a bright future until they make a necessary change..

Sorry but no support right now, could change in the future.
What is a signature? a special marking? a sign of independence? Not really. I think it's nothing. And that's what makes it special.

@iN_A_Jam, that's not the topic of this thread. We are not talking if they can or they can't evolve, but about their availability.

As special event pokemon, they are supposed to be not evolvable on purpose, if you want them to evolve make a suggestion about that

I agree with the reasoning behind what loketoke is trying to say. If it was implemented so that they were only put in the rumble maps both when a new retro replaced them and that map was a certain level (at least double digits maybe), it could work depending what the percent chance of them showing up was. Like how I understand the Pokémon from the Alolan and Galar maps to work. But maybe a little less often?
