The sunny weather had made the shadows of people and objects clearly defined. Through one such shadow, on a wall in an alley, a young-looking boy fell on the ground with a soft thud.

Merle rubbed a sore spot on his head as he got to his feet. He looked around. Had he...been here before? He didn't think so. He changed into his shadow form as he left the alley, so he could get around quicker.

The shadow creature fell back onto the ground. Instinctively, he held his wings over his body to protect himself.

Through his feathers, Merle peeked at the stranger. He was shocked to see a wolf, and even more shocked to hear it talk. The poor boy was so surprised (and still a little scared) that he could only nod in response.

The room was small Theresa was a small kitchen and the living/bedroom was right next to it and there was a tiny bathroom and she shut the door turned on the lights and put her food in the fridge.

He opened the door, swinging it open. Inside, a deer with dark blue fur was lopsided on the couch asleep. It looked dead.
