As the cashier came back with my drink, I snapped back into reality. I thanked him and payed, putting my hood up and walking into the snow covered path. I sipped my coffee, walking down. The moon beamed down onto me. All the shops were closed as it was christmas eve, but I cocked my head to a small second hand shop that was still open. I checked my pocket to make sure I had money with me, and I made my way to the small shop. I pushed the door open and suddenly the warm air hit me. An old woman from behind the counter looked up at me and smiled. I simply smiled back.
''What are you doing out so late on Christmas Eve, deary?'' the sweet old woman had asked me.
''I was heading home when I saw when your shop was still open, so I decided to have a look at what you were selling.''
''Oh! You're welcome to look around, then!''
I smiled at her again, before walking over to a shelf with cuddly toys on it. But one caught my eye. I gasped slightly as I realized it was a Calico plushie. ''Do you have anymore from the set?''
''Oh, I do actually! I have a box of them! But only one of them is missing...''
She put the box on the counter and I peeked in. Yep, all of them but one. I thanked her for getting the box, paying her and leaving. I closed the box when I got outside, picking it up again and walking back to my resturant that would open just in time for Christmas
