On the outside of a village was a large forest where a mansion had been built. No one knew who lived in the mansion, but there had been rumors going around that there was a vampire that lived there. You didn't believe that vampires really did exist, but when a group of villagers went missing the rest of the village asked you to go see if they had just gotten lost. You had agreed and went into the forest. But while you were looking for the villagers it started to snow hard. You decided that you would go back to the village until the snow storm passed, but when you turned around you had slipped on a piece of ice and your head had hit a rock. When you woke up, you were laying on a couch and a man was sitting across from you in a chair.

The woman slowly opened her eyes. Disoriented she looked from side to side trying to figure out where she was and what exactly had happened. She immediately noticed a man in front of her. With the little strength she could muster she scooter away frightened. Her eyes darted looking for the her east exit. Was this where the villagers ended up? Or is this completely unrelated? Multiple questions flew across her mind but the one thing she was certain of was that she needed to run.

The man quickly put his book down once he noticed that the woman was awake. It had been days since he had found her, and he honestly hadn't had much hope for her, and yet she had pushed through and survived. He pushed his black hair out of his face as he reached down to hand her a cup of water and an asprin.

Here, this will help your head. How are you feeling? Do you need any more blankets?

He didn't want to swarm her with questions as soon as she woke up, but he knew how important it was for her to stay put for a while longer, and to keep warm. The snow storm wouldn't let up any time soon, that was for sure.

She was put off guard by his sheer kindness. Of course she was still weary of the man but he seemed to have no ill intent. The woman looked at the aspirin. For a split second she thought he could be drugging her but the sheer amount of pain in her head forced her to take the aspirin alongside the cup of water.

“My head still hurts.. but I’ve felt worse. I don’t believe I need anymore blankets”

Her eyes were glued to the man, trying to find any form of weakness or something that would make her sure that he had some sort of evil scheme up his sleeve. She was paranoid, and in a situation like hers, who could blame her?

The man smiled as he leaned back in his seat, the front legs lifting up off the floor. There was a lot of questions he wanted to ask the girl, but he knew that she barely knew him and probably didn't trust him at all.

So, what were you doing out in a snow storm? You were out there for a while before I found you. If I hadn't have happened to look at the window when I did, I probably would have never found you.

He sat his chair back down as he rested his chin on his hand, watching the girl intently.

The woman took another sip of water. She understood why the man would be curious as to what she was doing out in the snowstorm but also cautious as to not reveal too much information to a person she had just met. The lady didn’t like lying so she decided she would be as vague as possible

“I was searching for a group of people”

That seemed vague enough. The woman hoped that the man wouldn’t try and pry for more information. Hopefully he would just understand that she didn’t want to reveal too much.

The man perked up at the mention of a group of people. Was she with them? He hadn't thought about that.

A few people went by around the time the storm started. They went in circles for a few hours before disappearing, so if you were looking for them, they're way ahead of where your at now. Possibly even went home.... If they were smart enough.

The man shrugged as he reached to take her cup away so he could refill it.
