Suddenly, the roar rang across the cave again. She gripped the boy’s hand and pulled him with her. She heard footsteps coming. She looked at the boy, trying to hide her pain.
“We need to run,” she said to him and dragged him along with her deeper into the cave.

Jack hold the yellow diamond and waits for something to happen. Jack has been stuck in the dark cave for a few days now, so the only water source in the unsanitary puddle, which is the only thing keeping him alive.

had bad memories of people dying because they didn't tell him that

Ivy paused for a moment and looked at Stardust. "I just don't like to look weak in front of others," she said as she ran. She stopped and listened for the footsteps or the growling. "We're safe for now," she said and looked at him when he didn't answer her. She realized that he looked tired. "You okay? Do you need some water?" she said as she handed over a bottle of water to him.

Ivy and Stardust were resting for a moment, taking sips of their water and Ivy was attending to her wound. She felt the ground shake beneath them and heard a low rumble in the distance. Her instincts were screaming at her that it meant bad news, and she learned to trust it.
"We should go," she said as she pulled Stardust up and ran along again. "Let's try to find our way out".

Unfortunately for Ivy and Stardust, there was no visible way out. If only they had someone who knew these tunnels...

They have been wandering for ages and there was still nothing but more corridors and rocky caves. She sighed and looked at Stardust. She wondered if he could still keep up, or if she could even walk anymore for that matter. She looked up and saw a small opening, enough to let in a little moonlight. She sat down on one of the big boulders nearby.
She wanted to give up already. She rummaged into her bag and found something that she didn't know was there. A letter?
She opened it and scanned through the words. They were obviously her brother's writing. It only contained 3 words.
Never give up, it said. She smiled. She put the letter back in the bag and let Stardust rest for a little longer. She felt determined that they would get out of here.
Then, a voice whispered into her head, but she didn't get what it meant. Then something came into her thought she got off the boulder she was sitting on and looked at Stardust.
"Help me push this," she said to him.

"Oh great," she said as she was covered in mud. She was about to sit down when the roar rang across the cave again. She looked around. Whatever that thing was it was here. She saw something move in the shadows. She aimed her penknife and tried to sharpen her vision. She looked at Stardust. "You have any weapons?" she whispered loudly at him.

Ivy panicked. "Oh great were dead," she said to herself. She put her hands up and got ready for a fight. Thank god for all the training she had about hand to hand combat and knife throwing. Being a daughter of a big boss in a city is really helping her. She stood poised.
"Whoever you are, what do you want?" she shouted at him as she collected her strength.

Jack drinks some water and thinks he sees a fourth gem, but he was mistaken. He watches as the cave floods and tries to dig himself a way out.

Ivy kept her eye on the moving shadow, though it still stayed in its place. She walked closer to it, getting ready to duck for a sudden attack.
