Chapter 1

Crystalfang headed for the medicine cats den, the border patrol had just encountered a Braveclan patrol, they had gotten into a fight. The Braveclan deputy, Crookedheart, had blamed Lightclan for the shortage of prey. She had been on the patrol with two others, Brackentail and Lionfur, whilst Braveclan had 3 others, Marigoldclaw, Rosemaryfang and Tigernose. Lightclan had lost the fight and now Braveclan’s leader, Gorsestar, would try to steal territory after the next Gathering. She knew she would have to face the wrath of her leader, Greatstar, at the next clan meeting.

“Let all cats young enough to catch there own prey gather round the Great Rock for a Clan meeting!” Called Greatstar at twilight. Crystalfang already knew what her leader would mention, it was obvious that she would talk about what had happened near the border soon enough. Once all the cats were gathered, Greatstar said. “Today our dawn patrol lost fight with Braveclan, we all know that now Gorsestar will try and steal territory, that is why I want you all to keep your nose out to see where he puts his scent markers next time.
Crystalfang stared at her leader with a worried glance, she knew th if they lost more territory, soon they might be driven out. Greatstar mew rang above the rest.” Other than that they have nothing to report, so you may continue your nights.” Crystalfang, shocked at how calm her leader was, crawled into the warriors den and went to sleep.
