................?
The human opened his eyes. His body was sore. Well he had just died. No... he was definitely alive. Dead people didn’t feel as sore as he did, did they? He rose to his feet, and looked around him. Where was he? He felt.. different. Powerful. He looked at his hands. But they weren’t hands, they were paws. Blue paws with a spike on the back of his hands. He was a Pokémon. “Ahh.... I remember....” Guilt flooded him as the memory surfaced. He had been a coward. He had ran away from his partner, as she was cursed. It was meant for him. As a result, he was cursed as well. He had heard the Ninetail’s words even as he fled in terror. It had come true. He was a Pokémon. A single tear hit the grassy path he had awoken on.
Regret.
It was powerful, almost overwhelming. He felt like crying “I’m so.....so sorry..” he began to mumur to himself. He repeated it over and over, more tears pouring into the ground. But there was no point. What was done, was done. No matter how much he wanted to go back, he couldn’t. But.... he was a Lucario now. He could help others. He would atone for his cowardice. Even if he was never forgiven, he would help others, to lift the guilt he carried on his heart. He took a step foward. Determination crossed his face. He would no longer be a coward. He would no longer try to run from fate. He was here now. That is all that matters. A new beginning, a second chance as he saw it. It was no longer a curse in his eyes. It was a blessing. And he would not waste it. He would follow the path he awoken on. His journey started here, a path to redemption...
The human turned Lucario sighed. Where was he Ben going to start? He had been walking for god knows how long, and not a sign of civilization. That’s when his ears perked up. He heard a voice in the distance. A very panicked voice. He made his way over, to find a Charmander staring at the entrance to a forest. The fire type was hyperventilating about something. He approached slowly and spoke. His voice was very rough, like he hadn’t used it in months, maybe years. It almost hurt to talk, and it produced very little sound. He tried to speak again, much more successfully.
“Are you... alright?” He asked. The charmander turned and quickly shook his head “My freind, an Abra went to fetch a lost possession of his, but it’s been a few hours and he hasn’t come back!” The charmander explained frantically.
“...Calm down. I’ll go find him for you alright?” He smiled to try and ease the pokémon before him.
“You will?” He looked up at the Lucario, glad to here that someone was willing to help.
“I will. I promise.” He lightly petted the charmander before looking into the forest dungeon. The charmander calmed down completely “Thank you stranger!”
The human entered the Sinister Woods. His first task to repay for his mistakes.
Pain. He felt pain. He fought, but he hardly knew how. He held a paw over his now bleeding arm as he descended deeper into the forestry dungeon. At least those Poison stings did nothing to him. He was grateful for that. He was also grateful that nothing could effectively damage him in a one on one scenario. He sat down to catch his breath for a moment. He was a bit crippled from a Bug Bite. He sincerely hoped the would didn’t get infected. Was this the type of pain Gardivoir had felt when she battled? Upon just thinking of his former partner, an uncontrollable tears welled up in his eye. Just remembering her made him unbearably sad. He got up and continued. Wasn’t to far now right?
...
He finally reached the end. His arm had somewhat recovered, and he learned more about how he could fight. Adrenaline was a great teacher. The Abra was in sight. “Excuse me.... A freind of yours sent me to look for you.”
The Abra turned, a bit suprised “He did...? And you came here to rescue me?”
“Sure did.” The Lucario nodded. He held out a paw. “Now let’s get you out of here . It’s dangerous.”
The Abra took his hand, and to his suprise, Used Teleport. The human wondered why he didn’t do that before? Maybe he was to tired, maybe someone had to ‘save’ him first. Either way he watched as the charmander fussed over the Abra. One good deed done. He felt accomplished. He turned to leave “W-Wait please!” The charmander came to his side, and held out 3 Oran Berries “I know it’s not much, but thank you so much.”
The Lucario tried to tell the other Pokémon he didn’t need it, but they both ended up convincing him to take it. He sighed and watched them run off. Today was interesting. He had done a good deed, and his body was sore from cuts and bruises. But he felt good inside. Now he needed to rest. However..... his vision blurred. Maybe... he had pushed his body too far. He heard a voice breify before his vision went dark. His body collapsed to the ground
........Hello? Is someone there? It’s so dark.....please....
He woke up sweating. He was shaking, and his fur felt drenched. He slowly breathed in and out. Just another nightmare. His eyes cleared as he looked around. This definatly wasn’t where he had collapsed. It was a house of sorts. He had been layed Comfortably on a pile of soft hay. He looked himself over, to find his arm and a few of his more minor injuries bandaged. Who had... helped him? He sat up, flinching a bit from his arm. He saw though a window day had begun to break. He slowly rose, and looked out. Strangely enough he seemed to be in a town. Who had dragged him here? That question repeated itself for awhile in his head as he left the room. Then he was hit with a wonderful smell. Just sniffing the aroma made his tail wag and his stomach growl. He hadn’t eaten since becoming a Pokémon. That had probably been one of the reasons he collapsed. He walked his way into a kitchen, which revealed that a Kangaskhan had been making the source of the smell: Pancakes. The large motherly Pokémon noticed him come in
“Oh! Thank goodness your up!” She smiled at the Lucario. He looked puzzled and only responded with one word “....Why?” She tilted her head at his question. “Because you were injured. I couldn’t just let you lay there after collapsing! What kind of Pokémon would I be if I let somemon just lay there badly wounded?”
“........” he was slightly taken aback by the response. But he offered a small smile “Thank you.....?”
“It’s Marie. And it was nothing hun. I’m glad your alright. Since your up, why not join me for breakfast before you head out again?” She returned his smile.
“I.....I thank you for your hospitality but please don’t trouble yourself,” his tail however betrayed his words. After all, who could resist pancakes? Marie did her best not to laugh. “It’s no trouble. I insist hun.” The human blinked and let out a fake sigh “Well if you insist, Guess I have no choice”
