Xin was slightly confused by the trial thing but put it out of her mind. She looked at the supplies and thought about what she could buy.

Xin handed the shopkeep 330 Poke and took her items from the shopkeeper. She headed back towards the cove where Rantaro and Snowflake were.

Rantaro wasn’t in his normal place. When Xin stepped into the cove, she stepped onto a large bubble which was hidden. This would cause her to fall onto her stomach. It was an extremely comfortable landing though, as the bubble stretched and wobbled.
Rantaro peeped out with a friendly grin on his face

Xin was startled but laughed as the bubble wobbled around her. She sat up once the bubble stopped wobbling and smiled at Rantaro. "Good one!" She said, still smiling.

He chuckled and walked over.. “My pranks don’t hurt, at least it got a smile out of you!” He gave her a small bag of money. Evidently to reimburse her for what she bought

Xin nodded. "Oh, thanks." She said, taking the money from Rantaro. She was slightly surprised and would have been fine even if she hadn't been reimbursed since the items would help them against their opponent, whether it was Tapu Bulu or someone/something else.

Rantaro brushed himself down, and adjusted his cape like membrane. “Well now, let’s set off. To the Ernte region... if chaos unfolds there, it could very well shut down the island....”

“Do you notice all the items from the shops? Most of the commercial food that we eat? They come from the Ernte region, where it’s Autumn all year round. All the tools, everything. It’s all produced there, and as such, it’s the ideal region for those looking for a job.” Rantaro explained. “The only items which cannot be produced there are specific items in each region.”
