Shininess determination?

I was just curious if anyone knew when a pokemon's shininess is determined. Is it when the egg is generated, when the egg is obtained (ie, tall grass eggs), or when the egg is hatched?

i believe someone has asked this before but i’m not 100% sure, and i’m pretty sure the answer was that it’s determined once you adopt the egg. i’d have to find the thread

edit: i was unable to find the thread i was talking about, so if anyone else manages to find it please link it~ i doesn’t like ten minutes but found nothing

This is what I've heard: It's determined when the egg is adopted, however it rerolls for shinyness if you get a boost, e.g. fountain boost, chain increases, etc.
