The very last thing Hayden expected was to be yelled at half way through his cup of coffee.
Before that, however, he was mildly amusing himself with watching blurs people pass a nearby window, and glancing around the coffee shop. There was a little girl, he guessed, bouncing around in her chair whilst pointing at another man and then proceeding to say something to who, Hayden assumed, was her parents. The man was closer to him, a bulky build and seemed almost a bit intimidating to approach. He could have sworn he saw some sort of marks but with his eyesight, he couldn't tell. There was also another girl seemingly bored... And it was the same girl who approached him in the first place.
Hayden jumped slightly in his chair, not expecting the sudden movement of her hands being slammed down on his table. The coffee in his cup threatened to spill. "I uh," He stammered after she asked her question before taking a deep breath and raised his head to look at her. "Yes, I do realize that," his hand raised from the handle of the cup to the frames of his sunglasses.

Tanja sighed in exasperation. "Well then, why are you wearing them?" She folded her arms across her chest, frowning down at the sunglasses-wearing stranger. She couldn't understand why anyone would keep sunglasses on inside and she generally didn't do very well with not understanding things - hence the whole causing-a-commotion-in-a-coffee-shop thing. "It can't possibly be doing anything to help your vision right now... it isn't even a very bright day, so I doubt wearing them outside would be beneficial either. Honestly, they must be hindering your vision. Why would you purposely do something that'd dull one of your senses?" Not many people were modern versions of sell-swords like her, of course, so most peoples' lives didn't depend on their senses like her's did, but... still. Wouldn't anyone choose good vision over darkened vision?

Zero followed Shikku without further trying to question her, despite the nagging thoughts telling him it was stupid to follow someone he so recently met like this. Old habits and ways of thinking really did die hard, apparently. When they got inside an apartment building he was unfamiliar with and stopped running, Zero leaned against the wall, waiting for Shikku to catch her breath. "So..." he began after she seemingly calmed down a bit, "Who's after you?" While he wasn't fully positive that they were being chased, as he never sensed anyone actually following them, it did seem like the most reasonable explanation for what just happened. It was probably considered kind of nosy for him to ask, but he figured he had the right to know now that he had been dragged along with her running. Besides that, he was decently curious about the whole situation.

Hayden let out a small sigh, relaxing his fingers on his frames before glancing back down at his cup of coffee. He took a small sip. He's be stared at, asked if he was drunk or high, looked at weirdly and a bunch of other crazy things concerning his sunglasses but this is definitely a first. The girl seemed to be overly enthusiastic with finding reasoning, and not at all concerning on the fact of the major commotion she was causing. He didn't need good vision to know that people in the shop were staring at them both. His mind seemed to be in a thousand different places, running around ideas of gently asking the girl to stop and mind her own business, to giving her what she wanted- an answer. He honestly didn't know what to do, he thought as he moved in his chair so he was facing towards this stranger. "Listen," he started, "I know that these do dull my vision but it is in fact my own choice to wear them. Imagine a man wearing high heels, walking around the city. It doesn't benefit him to walk around in that sort of footwear but it's also something he chose to do." He took a deep breath, realizing that this was going too far down a psychological road. "Most people would just belittle him in their head, but you aren't most people, are you?" Hayden looked up at the girl, with a small smile on his face. He hoped his words didn't hurt her; that wasn't in intention.

If Shikku was drinking water, she would've spit it out. "N-no one's chasing me." It was partly true on her part. She saw someone call up about a mutant bothering a human, but only in a vision. She saw the investigative team questioning her about the mutant that was bothering her and they wouldn't take no for an answer. Shikku knew she couldn't let that happen and smoothly avoided it. Catching her breath, she opened the door to the stairs and turned in the doorway. "I'll meet you up stairs. Apartment 23." Climbing stairs was a lot more leisurely than her run from before. When she got to the fourth floor, she sprinted to the room on her right and struggled with the key in the door. She always had trouble with her key. It was a constant struggle to simply open the door to her apartment. On a normal day, it takes a minimum of two minutes to open the door. On a bad day, she just sits outside her apartment until a neighbor comes home.

Möhnä already regretted going outside as he stood hunched on the sidewalk. Kana showing up after him had some people leave them be and mind their own business. The female mutant had a somewhat calming effect on him, at least he wasn't alone. However, that knowledge didn't help calm his racing heart much. People were still giving him looks and he just wanted them to leave him be, he was scared and he was starting to get pissed off as well.

When a spoiled teenager came little closer to him and threw some witty remarks about freaks and stuff at him and Kana -most likely to show off to his friends or something, what a moron- the male mutant just had had enough. He was tired of being scared and helpless. He had to start holding his own sooner or later. Curling his hands into fists in an attempt to will them to stop shaking, Möhnä rose to his full lenght and emitted a low growl from the back of his throat. He certainly wasn't the shortest person or mutant around so combined to his looks he could be quite intimidating when he wanted to. He just hoped that wouldn't be the case. Möhnä didn't want to be a monster. Too bad though as he was born as one and there was nothing he could do about it.

Connor was disappointed. To tell the truth he had been looking forward to something, anything, interesting to happen between the male and female but the two were just engaged in a peaceful discussion. Boring. With a sigh, Connor finished his sweet drink and got up from his seat. He paid no further mind to the occupants of the coffee shop as he made his way outside.

He had been lucky enough for his car to break down few days ago so he had to walk. Connor was starting to get sick of walking, it was slow, tiring and annoying. He just hoped it wouldn't start raining like yesterday. With a huff, he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jacket and started walking away from the shop.
