On this thread you share the first time you fail a shiny on a main game (red gyarados does not count) if you have prof (a picture or a video) you can share it as well

My story:
I was sos hunting a kanghaskhan on moon wen I found a shiny cubone, I decided to catch it and wait to ultramoon for evolving it wen suddenly it calls for help and appears non other that another green cubone.

not really sure if it counts but on my first pokemon go community day i had no idea you had to click on them to see if its shiny or not i did catch a shiny chikorita but i probably missed some shiny ones as the was a TON

Oof for both of you

So, it was one BEAUTIFUL day in Let’s Go Eevee. I was hunting the sacred SHINY ABRA! Chained over the normal 31 combo and guess what I got... Shiny porygon (caught) shiny Charizard (caught) Shiny pidgiotto (can’t spell and failed) Shiny Rattata (caught) 2 Shiny chanseys (fail)
I was also hinting venonat and I failed a dragonite...
I was playing my mom’s LGP and she got a perfect IV magikarp and didn’t save afterward (she was new) and she was hunting Laura’s so I reset because the chain broke so I wanted to restore pokeballs and I erased the magikarp... still hasn’t reclaimed to this day

i tried to shiny hunt for a rock pokemon in the friend safari in x and y. i stumbled upon a shiny magcargo. i tried to slightly damage it, but i accidently killed it with a water type move.

I’ve never failed a shiny, but I have a sucky story about someone who did. So this guy was shiny hunting a scyther for well over 14 hours, and he saw it, but went back into the little house thing to reset the spawns righ as he saw it

I have never failed a shiny but I did get bad shinies.

- Found a shiny unown in omega ruby during a nuzlocke (I decided to have the nuzlocke go through post game too) I lost my x years before and did not have pokebank. I wanted to have a Pokemon game I could reset and do another nuzlocke so I couldn't reset game. I wish I could find my Pokemon X card

- in let's go on my second playthrough I was using chanseys to grind and found a shiny licktung

- I lost a kyogre in ultra sun becouse "someone" decided that they wanted to use it to get a stupid shiny swellow :(

I had to leave becouse of jerks making me have anxiety problems, you shouldn't do stuff like that I wish you all knew how bad it can hurt a person

I forgot what game I was playing and got a shiny fennekin as starter. Guess what? I forgot to save the game :')

I was shiny hunting stakataka and found it within the same day the hunt started, couldn’t wittle it down with false swipe fast so I use leaf blade.
Critical hit. One shot kill. That was fun.

ended up reclaiming it the very next day but still that was the first and most painful fail I’ve had.

The only shiny I've failed was my very first shiny, a Wingull on Emerald. It showed up on Route 103 just after the rival fight, so I wasn't even able to catch anything at that point and had to run from it.

Child me was very upset about it for years lollll. I've never failed a shiny since.
