Favorite Marvel Movies/Characters
Forum-Index → General Discussion → Favorite Marvel Movies/CharactersThey're just the very cookie cutter "main characters." I don't usually like those, we see them everywhere so they're not all that interesting to me. Like I said, I tend to like the underdog secondary characters so it makes sense the stereotypical mains in contrast don't catch my fancy.
Though it's not like I have anything against them. They're ok characters. I just think the other three are better and more interesting. I mean, it's wacky adventures in space. There's a talking raccoon, a living tree, and an idiot who takes everything literally. And then there's the basic human male lead (who is also half god or whatever it was that grants cool powers). And then there's the female lead that's alien but she only has a different skin color so she can be considered hot by human standards. Heck, Mantis still adhered to the 'must be hot' criteria but at least she had something different going on and her shenanigans with Drax make me forgive her a bit. Speaking of which, yes, Drax is guilty of the 'alien but still hot' crime as well but at least he remains 'faithful' to his lost family + shenanigans with Mantis. :,D
I know, there's more to Peter and Gamora (and the rest of the lot) than I rambled here. I really liked how all the characters are so much fun but have more depth to them that actually gets shown at times. I'd probably dislike Gamora if it wasn't for Nebula, her relationship with her sister really was the saving graze of the character for me.
Also, I'm sick of mandatory romance subplots. I'd probably like them better if they didn't hook up. On that note, I'm also not a fan of the 'quirky womanizer' trait that is often given to the main guy (like Peter), it's getting annoying.
Not that there's anything wrong with liking them or them hooking up, most people probably do so that's why it's so prevalent. It's just not my cup of tea.
That is very understandable and it would be really boring if all people around the world would have the same taste in characters and even i have to say that secondary characters are better than the main protagonists c:
My fav is def Thor. Ragnarok was a masterpiece haha (is it wrong that the rock guy is pretty up on my list of favorites). I also like both spiderverse and mcu spiderman. I kinda feel like DC movies are kinda starting to up their game (at least Shazam haha, maybes that's just cause its the type i like), but that's off topic.
I also saw a post somewhere where someone said they stopped liking marvel after they realized they wouldn't really make the avengers a family, which i kinda feel. I'm hoping for more bonding in endgame. Honestly its the cute relationships between the characters I like most (like the mentor/dad tony to newbie/son peter, or the hulk/valkyrie bro-ship).
Are there any upcoming marvel movies besides the new spiderman and endgame?
(I'm lovin how everyone is being super respectful of other people's opinions here c: )
More bonding would be great but chris hemsworth (if i remember right) said once endgame is much darker than infinity war ovo but we have to see if it's true or not.
I really can't wait for next week x'D
Here is the link, if anyone was interested.
I agree with Peter, we are all one big family... and I haven't felt any more safer and happier in a fandom before, except for Marvel. This is my heart, my soul, my passion. I actually wanted to write my Senior Paper on why Bucky Barnes wasn't a villain, or why Peter Quill didn't do anything wrong- but... both were going to lack the 10 page minimum for the paper... rip ;w;
However, I am going to write a mini argumentative paper in addition to my Senior Paper, about Marvel- it's most likely going to be why my husband (Bucky) isn't a villain, but I'm open to suggestions! xD
