Can you breed two dittos together? I feel like no because then there would be more around than there are but I'm curious.

Nope, Ditto only Adopted from the Lab and Received from the Gem Collector (you have a Ditto first).

You're correct in thinking that if it were possible they'd be all over the place.
But they'd also be nowhere near as valuable as they are and there'd likely be a few shinies about too

There are no shiny dittos on site? While there definitely have been people who have announced shiny ditto hunts, I don't believe anyone has ever properly initiated one outside of gathering gems either. Seeing as you need 10,000 normal gems per ditto, it takes quite a while to gather the materials for a ditto hunt.



Sitewide frequency refers to number of shinies on site/number of this pokemon on site. Seeing as the number before the slash for ditto's entry is zero, I'm assuming I'm correct in saying that there are no shiny dittos on site.
