Controversial suggestion here we come!

Anyway, will be giving @Tobey credit for this, since I saw his latest feed about this. Without it, I wouldn't have decided about making a suggestion, putting this into perspective, and giving my good visuals that people seem to really like. This suggestion aims to create a discussion about the idea, and if you must know I'm personally neutral about the idea of this, but I'll be giving my thoughts on it with what I'd like to see with implementation if it would happen.









Not really sure about re-feeds including the user's avatar, but this is what I got for now to show for what I had in mind currently. Might do an edit in later that will include avatar's and style that if I got more time for it.

Since I'm pretty simplistic, and as you can see I made what I feel is simple. I obviously feel there shouldn't be stuff like re-feeding inception, since that would just get too messy and complicated with how the feed layout is, and it would just be a complete eyesore and a headache in my opinion. So, I disabled that button with re-feeds, then I also just disabled the like and comment button for them as well. I personally don't see the point of them.

When you click on the re-feed icon of your own feed, then it will show who re-feeded your feed, just like how likes function.

Also, if you hit the re-feed button on someone's feed after you re-feeded it, then it will quickly delete your re-feed of that specific feed.

Not sure about re-feeds accounting for getting you up on the trending notification wall easier, but this is why I want a discussion.

This can help with giveaways, especially if a user cannot copy and paste on their device
I've seen people copy giveaway posts from other participants, because the main post can sometimes be hard to find
It also helps with giveaways that require you to like thd feed, as some people accidentally like the feed of a participant, thinking they're the host - it would make it easy to like and comment on the original post

It could also help with feeds like 'help me find my shiny OT' and such, as it's so simple to share it and more people might be motivated to share

I don't think I'd have an issue with this being implemented but I do have some concerns:

1. What would happen to re-feeds when the original feed is deleted? Would the re-feeds stay up or be automatically deleted as well?

2. It's possible re-feeding could be abused to bully people (re-feeding to subtly make fun of the user and the like). So perhaps there should be a possibility to toggle re-feedability on or off? Or maybe just implementing re-feeds with the blocking feature in mind so blocked users can't re-feed your feeds would be enough?
