2 of my 4 advent calendar Pokemon have pun names. That's how there's Freed-Bass, and I guess you wouldn't call Bay-Clay a pun per say, more of a play on evolutions, but then you have Eric and Gary (and Mary. Their last name is Smith).
Just remember: You can't prove God didn't crawl out of the ocean.

Lol, whenever I name, I usually go with an exotic name (ex. Fvarelle, Oftello, Repetrife) No idea why XP But of course there are times when I go with something simple, Ollie is an example of the simpler names (guess who I named him after :3)

I have 2 Patrats and 3 Watchogs named after guinea pigs my family used to have. Only one left alive, and 2 came as babies.

Edit: Of course we took care of them well, Widget who was the son of Spot, lived at least a good 6 years. Do you know how old that is for a guinea pig? Chip died of old age, and Patch *cries* and Spot died of sickness that only Patch ever showed signs of. That's when you know it's too late, though... I noticed Patch at least a week before everyone else and it freaked me out to see him fall because I let him once...

I use websites with a bunch of names (usually baby names), and I go off of what type the Pokémon is or some other characteristic that it has. And I'll usually use its personality to help me decide a name.

If i do it's after a game or pet of mine (or oc. Or nickname of mine)
