New Improvements
Forum-Index → Discussion → New Improvements1. Anyone posting in the Suggestion category must "check the... Suggestions subforums, including the Implemented forum and the Rejected forum to see if your idea has already been suggested before" (source). I'm assuming that this doesn't mean "if your idea has ever been mentioned before, you can't mention it again." That's borderline censorship- "we already told that guy no. so quit discussing it." Rather, I interpret this rule as "go make sure your reasoning for your idea hasn't already been refuted." Which is perfectly reasonable. However-
I've found that most Suggestions on sites like these usually get a polite nod from a moderator, a few words of acknowledgement, and then the idea is never spoken of again. Is this just because Riako and the mods are discussing it in private? Probably. I believe they do actually care what their playerbase thinks about the site, unlike many site creators. However, does this mean we can't go on discussing the issues of this site after it's already been mentioned once? I certainly hope not.
2. So why is this not in the Complaints forum, you ask? While this thread is, technically, a thread of suggestions, it is not a thread of complaints. Don't believe me? Merriam Webster defines a 'complaint' as "[an] expression of grief, pain, or dissatisfaction" (source). This thread is not me expressing my disgust with this site, nor is it me outcrying against some pretend injustice. To put it simply, this is a thread where we can discuss ways Pokeheroes can improve. Not a Complaint. Perhaps a Suggestion. But mostly a Discussion.
1. Of course, all regular Pokeheroes rules apply.
2. Use the feedback template for consistency's sake. Feel free to provide whatever feedback on whatever proposal you wish to comment on. In your post, please state which idea you're addressing, whether or not you support it, and why you take that stance. This, I believe, will be much more effective at getting feedback from the community on if, why, and how something should be changed. Much more effective than just casting a nameless vote in an ultimately powerless ballot.
3. Do not propose new ideas of your own on this thread. Make your own Discussion thread :) . I mean this in the friendliest of ways. I'd love to see more people making their own threads like this, so that we can start to see real discussion in the community.
4. Moderators, feel free to discuss ideas in here too, if you want. I don't intend to make this a normal-players-only chat. You guys are a part of the game too, and you deserve a vote in how it's run just as much as anyone else.
5. I will do my best to keep emotional arguments and subjective reasoning out of this thread. Logic and reason will prevail here. I ask that everyone else do the same.
6. Remember, at the end of the day, this is just a game.

Title: Mystery Box Loot Table
Proposal:
Balance the loot table for Mystery Boxes. This is by far the most morale-killing game mechanic on Pokeheroes, especially with the newer players. You finally get your hand on a key that matches the box you’ve been saving for a week, you open your very first Mystery Box, and inside… oh. Three Hondew Berries. Nice.
Now, I’m not saying every Mystery Box needs a summon item in it. That would be worse than the Hondew Berries. But why not offer multiple rewards to soothe that feeling of loss and everlasting regret :D ? Classify every Item in the game as Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, or Mythic. Every Mystery Box will contain some PD (the amount can vary), and three items. They could all be Common (some berries), or they could all be Mythic (two rare summon items and a healthy dosage of Nuggets). Who knows? It's still all up to chance. There could even be a ‘see the reward’ page to increase suspense, where players reveal their three prizes by flipping over cards. It would far more appealing than ‘click, berries.’ It would attract new players, and any site needs new players to grow!
What do y'all think?

I think getting three items in the higher rarity tiers would be a bit much. So, a better system might be that only one item in the item pool can be mythic or legendary (or possibly rare as well).
Alternatively, the different rarity tiers of the items could have a fixed number of how many different items you get. For common it could be three, two for uncommon, and one for the higher rarities.
The problem with the boxes seems to be that there's too wide of a gap between the lowest and highest value of items, your proposal would just increase both and the gap would still remain just as big (if not bigger). Either of these two modified ideas would have a bit more balanced rewards than what we currently have so ending up with bad luck with boxes wouldn't be as soul-crushing, but I think the current best payoff for lucky turns of the key is high enough and doesn't need to be increased.

Title: Weather Bonuses
Proposal:
Add additional bonuses to the Weather modifier. I.e. when the weather is ‘Meteorites,’ not only do Dragon Pokemon get 50% more XP, they also have a slightly boosted chance to be shiny or mega-able. It would give players more of a reason to check the Weather daily and save eggs for ‘the right weather.’ There could even be a rare special weathers called "Planetary Alignment" (All Pokemon receive the bonus). These extra bonuses wouldn't need to be game-breaking. Just another reason to keep coming back to the site and check up on what's going on. Another "daily reward," albeit a more abstract one.
