The staff hitting the ground made a sound loud enough so that the people inside the house, and near it, could hear.
The green sphere seemed to not have realized it dropped its staff, though.

It felt a little wet to the touch. But that might not be the biggest hint, as the green sphere didn't seem to be very stable as it passed by.
In fact, there's kind of a trail of green liquid drops leading to wherever and whatever the thing is.

the trails eventually lead to a solosis whose green thing is almost depleted.
