I caught a shiny retr0 Charizard, I kinda checked the Lab and I saw this :

I see you recently hatched a special colored Charmander (Retro)! That is pretty cool, congratulations.
I wonder if the origin of an egg influences whether the Pokémon is shiny or not. A friend of mine once told me that he got most of his shinies from the Tall Grass, whereas someone else prefered the daycare breeding service. Or maybe it depends on the parents of a Pokémon egg?
Well, who knows.

It's cool that Prof. Rowan noticed my achievement but it is kinda weird that he says that the Pokémon that I've caught was "hatched" and it's definitely not a "retr0 Charmander". :S

I keep seeing posts about this at the Notification Wall (i.e. shiny Retr0 Feraligatr described as shiny retr0 Totodile, etc) but I didn't see anyone actually reported it on this thread.. so, I figured to post it myself to start things off. :B

So, while this is a bug, what I think happened is this -
1. System detects a shiny on your profile
2. System doesn't find an egg for the Charizard (retro)
3. System checks Pokédex and sees "Charizard evolves from Charmander" [doesn't check for retroness]
4. System sees Charmander (retro) comes from an egg
5. System communicates with Lab "Shiny retro Charmander was hatched"
6. Lab adjusts to "hooray new shiny" message
7. Hilarity

I see you recently hatched a special colored Phanpy! That is pretty cool, congratulations.
Was it a random encounter? I've heard the chance of finding such a Shiny is pretty low, but the Pokéradar Item can boost your luck a bit.
I wish I could go on my own Shiny Hunt, but unfortunately I can't afford this required item... Maybe I should start selling the eggs from my lab instead of gifting them to trainers. What do you think?
