I'm trying to release a lot of extra pokemon but it wont let me release some... help.... :S

in need of money or electric gems

You canno't realise the following ones:
Starters and Missingno's and harvest sprites,and i think some other kinds of pokemons.What are you trying to realise?

To add onto this you can't release pokemon:
-In your battle team
-On a rumble mission
-If they're holding any items
-In the daycare

and a couple of other situations i believe

Correcting & clarifying Mega_Charmander...
You can release Starter Pokémon, just not the one Starter Pokémon you received from Professor Rowan when you first joined PokéHeroes.

You also can’t release Pokémon who have been offered on/set up for trades in the GTS, set up for Auction, or are on Route 53 (Combee & Miltank in the Honeycombs & Ranch, respectively),
