Hello,
I can guarantee this has been answered a million times but I was wondering if someone could give me a really in depth guide to hatching shinies? I understand that you have to hatch the same type of egg over and over again however does it have to be the same POKEMON (I.E. pikachu over and over again), or is it just the same type (I.E. water eggs)? and if its the same single pokemon over and over again how can you guarantee the egg will be that pokemon other than waiting the 5 minutes for rowans scan? also, I know people hunt for shiny eggs other than rowans lab, but I was wondering again how people guarantee its going to be a certain type / specific pokemon? Im looking into shiny hunting just out of boredom but am very un-educated on how it actually works and the in game guide doesnt really give a clear view on how to hunt in my opinion. any help would be awesome :D

First off you need to buy a pokéradar. After you have done that, you will be able to see a tab on the home menu that says "Pokéradar". Click on it, and you will be taken to a screen that will show things like whether or not your pokéradar needs batteries, and whether or not you are hunting a pokémon. You need to buy batteries in order to start a hunt. Once you have done that, turn the pokéradar on, and hatch an egg containing the pokémon you want to shiny hunt. Keep in mind that if you hatch an egg containing a pokémon that you are not hunting while you are in the middle of a chain, the pokéradar will reset, and you will need to buy new batteries. As it says on the Pokéradar page, you can do the check to see if an egg will break your chain. To get multiple of the same pokémon, you can buy an egg scanner and the appropriate rarity level of chip for it to search for the pokémon you are hunting. Keep in mind that you need to have the egg dex data to search for anything, and that specific pokémon has to have eggs in the grass in the first place. Another option is putting a male and a female of the pokémon you are hunting into the daycare, and letting them breed. You will need to put in a deposit in order for them to breed. Once you have hatched 40 eggs, you will have the maximum chance of hatching a shiny possible, 1.25%. After that, its only a matter of time until you hatch a shiny! I would also recommend buying egg storage and enabling safe mode. All in all, shiny hunting is very expensive, so make sure that you have a lot of pokédollars saved up before you start!
