So I just got the moon stone and sun stone in the gem boiling pot, but how many stones do I need to boil before I get the shiny stone??

Another question , how do you use the shiny stone? What does it do?

It just takes a while, I would say around 5 more stones after boiling all the available stones? Just I don't think people count, sorry I couldn't answer your question XD

The shiny stone is just an evolution stone, it's really nothing else. You could say it's like the stone for fairy and normal type pokemon?

People often think the PH sprites are bland. Do they shade? Well, yes they do. You'll be surprised how much care is taken for these sprites.

Also I think you need to boil the stone above it to get the stone, I may be mistaken though

You need to boil a total of 10 stones [I think], to unlock the Shiny Stone.
Which stones you boil doesn't matter. You could boil 10 Leaf Stones [for example] and it'll do the job :)

As said before, it's an Evolution Stone, same kind of stone as the Fire Stone or the Moon Stone.
To read which pokémon evolve with it, you can check Evolving Pokémon :)
