Activity on PokéHeroes
Forum-Index → News → Activity on PokéHeroesWe need more challenges. Not big events, but maybe a weekly thing with a helpful reward? PD, a small amount of nuggets, evo items? Maybe not "challenges" but more like tasks we can complete over the week that'll let us earn one big thing for completeing each one. Like the reward we get for coming on everyday, but we actually earn it by participating. It's one thing to log on, but it's another thing to actually do something. The prize could gradually get bigger the more you participate. The task could get user to use features more, I know for a fact I don't use the berry garden except for that event. Some tasks could include completing battles, growing some berries, interacting, sending a plushie, commenting in the forums, doing rumble missions, and doing something in route 53. Get people more involved in the site's attractions.
Also, I don't want to say steal things from other sites, but you should interpret ideas from other sites in your own way and add them here. Flightrising has small minigames that actually feel like you're doing something. Yes, we have the game center, but how much of that is actually interactive and lets you feel like you're playing a game and not just clicking half-heartedly and just praying on luck? We have puzzles, where we collect the pieces, but then we do nothing with them. (To my knowledge anyways). Why not add a puzzle game? With guaranteed PD or gamechips as prizes? The harder they are/more pieces they have, the more you earn. Some of those puzzles are really pretty, and I hate that I don't really appreciate them or even realize they exist half of the time until my screen annoyingly gets dim and says I found a piece.
Other game suggestion:
A "Who's that Pokemon?" type game. I'm really into that whole thing they did in the show for Pokemon, it got you involved in knowing the Pokemon by the look of it and a sense of pride when you got it right. You can just show the shadows of the sprites and have people guess as many as they can in a set amount of time. Reward would vary. (I know the royal tunnel is somewhat of a guessing type game for pokemon, but it includes knowing about every pokemon and knowning things about this game (EHP of eggs) that don't pertain to the original pokemon at all.
TL;DR? PokeHeroes isn't the game for everyone. And the tutorial serves as a "tester" for them to find out what they like. If they don't like it, they leave.
I don't care about facebook and co., but if it helps to get more members active...
More events even without new sprites, but other rewards could help too. I also wouldn't mind the suggested new games for the game center. Without using coin flip, it can take years to gather enough for the legendary cats.
And of cause adding the missing pokemon from Alola could help too.
An idea; have a group of members that can act as a new user guide or contact, who can send the user a welcome message and can act as the person that user can ask questions to. And yes, why not have a newbie package?
I am at a loss on what is being referred to as the community part of the site. Aside from assisting each other with interactions and trading, there isn't much of a social community in my experience. I do not roleplay and that limits a lot of opportunities to chat to other members. The chat on this site, I have never seen anyone in it. Ever. When I was new, I checked it often and hoped I may have come across some users there chatting as a means to meet other users. I do wish there was a better social aspect to the game other than forum roleplaying, which seems the most used area of the forums.
About shiny hunting too… My goodness! The chain breaking pokemon. As a member that chose to participate in a SM hunt, let me tell you. When you go down that path the game gets *boring* fast. And to do these hunts, those participating are more than likely paying members for premium and perhaps other items such as flutes. I accept that it could take months to reach my goal and I am okay with that. But in the meantime, things get super, super boring because the main component of the site isn’t accessible to me anymore. I cannot collect or hatch pokemon, not even one. Why not consider at least 1 egg slot that does not break the chain? Support paying members who will continue to buy these services for their in-game goals by at least allow one egg slot that is a freebie, that does not break chain. I couldn’t participate in the latest event because of this, which really sucked. If this isn’t feasible, consider more ways that a user can participate in the game aside from dex completion and shiny hunting. Even if this comes as an expansion to the game center with more opportunities to earn game chips. Allow users who are invested in their hunts to still participate in the game on some satisfying and fun level.
Well, these are my two cents. I am enjoying the game, it has it’s ups and downs. But I think the site has more potential than what is being utilized. I believe there needs to be more events and opportunities for users, I believe there should be a group assigned to assist new users during the first couple of weeks on site. Other options to increase the social aspect of the game would be an amazing improvement too. And my suggestion around the egg slot or more opportunities to "play" the game comes as a very demotivated user, that after five months, I still can’t participate in the game as I wish I could.
While I won't deny that you bring up some valid points, I was wondering if you could elaborate on this? The latest event was the free Zekrom/Reshiram item, was it not? I don't quite understand how having a running SM-hunt stopped you from claiming you free item and simply waiting till a later time before activating the quest. Unless you're talking about the fact that you can't actually use it, because it would break your chain [which I can understand]
The Berry Battle [which was another recent addition] never gave out any eggs, only fully hatched Vivillon [pokéball and fancy] so, again, wouldn't really have an influence on your chain.
Unless you're referring to another recent addition?
Kitties! Riako has no idea what he unleashed with that update🙀
Collecting Lovely Larvesta and Silly Seel Plushies~
Looking for Ice Gems and Flying Gems here! Help me hunt a Shiny Articuno!
(You can win your own non-shiny Articuno in return)
Breeding events for the cause here!
I was referring to the fact that I couldn't use the item and partake in the event on the same level as other users, which yes, would break my chain. You help everyone else heal their wounded and then warm their newest legendary egg, while I love helping, it still bummed me out on another level because I couldn't do that too. It's simple things like that.
The Berry Battle I have other feelings about, hoarding potions and then claiming all at once, rather than allowing it to be based on merit of your day's ability to make the potions... yeah. I don't know if I really liked that, but atlas :) it's a loophole in the site.
What can I do if they only don't want to play?

For example, most things here cost a couple K or more in PD, but just starting, it is very hard to get PD on a phone or in the few hours they get to be online. Unless they find a nice person who throws a couple of K at them to help get started, they feel like they can't get their feet on the ground and going towards anything they want to do.
Rewards for working hard, like egg storage prices are outrageous, for the 11th slot I need 800K how is that worth it?? Tying into that, it's also hard when there is an update and new pokemon released, but you're mid-chain and trying to earn PD by selling shinies or something and you can't collect anything new without paying for it.
Lastly (for now) is that it's a pretty simple site, but almost no mobile compatibility, as most people I know enjoy apps or games while waiting for eggs to hatch, it gets tiresome if all you can do is interact or even roleplay, but that takes time and others being online as well. Even the current things like fishing get old after awhile, though I love the bug and beauty contests because there's something to strive for each time
Edit: I love the idea of weekly games or daily tasks to do. Those would be great to look forward to. I really like the lotto suggestion as well, Lugia being the main reward has become a joke, I own like 15 vouchers myself and you can't even sell them most of the time for more than 5-10K. Shiny Lugia seems like a far off dream so I just quit playing it altogether. Upped egg production/ability to find eggs is a good idea as well, the gem exchange is very expensive for a lot of pokemon. Snorunt is 40 ice gems, so if I got those I'd never get a chance to hatch Articuno.
I've been surprised at how many people on this site are adults, therefore have jobs. Or even highschoolers, both of which usually aren't able to be on a computer very often, but they usually do have phones.
having so many events that are click events, when it's so hard to click on mobile makes the game a little less appealing.
I'm not saying "don't have click events" i actually like them a lot, especially the speed click events.
but the numbers for the click events are kind of ridiculous, and not friendly to those on mobile, or on time restraints.
we have players who do like 1,000 interactions and get the prize for it, while other players, many of which are usually on a time restraint, get into the 10,000's.
and because of how frustrating it can be, and how hard it is to get started because of time restraints/only being able to play on mobile, only two of the 15 people i've convinced to try, are still playing. i think.
heck, ive gotten into playing for only a few hours a week due to the stress of work and trying to get my life on track. I can check every so often on my phone, but that's only good for trading out eggs in my party.
my only suggestion is, make it easier for mobile players, ya know?
and maybe give incentive for people who recruit players?
i know a few sites that have friend codes players type in during registration, or a special link for each player to give friends. Using those codes give both players special rewards.
Can i also point out how unnecessarily strict some of the rules are, while others aren't? such as the "bad words" rule. I understand the game is meant to be family friendly, but let's face it, i know i'm not the only one who hasn't even said an actual bad word, but have gotten warnings for using them. The site used to figure out if the word is bad is also just to much. I almost quit after my first warning, especially since the Mod who gave it to me never even replied to WHY i was given the warning.
like I said, a lot of us are adults, and swear words slip out every so often, and having to filter out some words, including ones that aren't even actually swear words is a bit of a pain.
especially when mods get so uptight about it. "well, the site says it's a bad word. so your warning stands" while i've seen plenty of other players ACTUALLY swear? and the posts staying up for days?
on the flip side.
I've basically been stalked on this site before (with screen shots to prove it) and the person didn't even get a warning. just a pal pad telling them to stop.
so, not swearing, but saying 'bad words' is such a horrible action, yet creepily stalking other players isn't?
For example, a few years back there was no way to add PD / Nuggets to a trade, I'm not entirely sure how it was but people had to interact (PM/palpad) with eachother to gain a certain degree of trust. This way almost every trade was something personal.
Of course there were a lot of people scamming others this way. This creates a lot of discussions, but also strengthens bonds with friends that try to help out the person who got scammed.
People tried to find a solution to this and so the Trusted Trade Thread(I think it's called that) came into existence. This had as a result that trades became less personal.
Then someone came with the idea to add the currency directly to the trade, which killed the whole "trust" factor that people had to build. So from that point on trades have become a "feature" of the game rather than something that brings people together and talk to eachother.
I'm aware that you can't reverse the system at all, but with whatever changes you make, you need to keep the community and the interactions between them in the back of your head.
In this particular case I'm sure a big part of the community wanted it to be like this because nobody likes to be scammed, but indirectly it caused new players to have less interaction with other people who wanted to trade something. This isn't the case for all people, but for a lot of them PH gets boring without the help of the community.
I personally have no suggestions to restore PH but I hope your community helps you finding one. What's already a very good thing is that you interact with the people here. As long as you listen to us players, I'm sure a steady amount of people will stay.
Good luck!
But by adding more things to do, like small challenges and more events would keep a person more active, however hang events that just have you interact to get the rewards also kills people. That's what killed me in the start I was very excited for the Shaymin event but the whole "interact and try your luck." Got very boring. However adding things that aren't just based off of interactions will hook people. You could take a couple of points from Pokéfarm Q. Some of the events there aren't just interactions.
That being typed I don't have anymore suggestions, sorry.
