i have a ton of berries, but i'm not sure if i can move them to my item bag

If they're in the berry garden. No you cant move them from there there your bag.

But from your item bag to the berry garden you can.

Riako explained with the release of the Berry Garden that the berries you grow in the Garden won’t be able to be transferred back in order to avoid inflation essentially.
