Alright...this is a mini story I'm currently working on. I'm going to post it as I write it on my computer, and I'm going to try to finish it before Halloween. (If not then Thanksgiving because I am lazy/busy, but I think I should post what I have) Anyways. This story is based around Tiger, my main pokemon Trainer OC, and Lion, his rival. This will take place either during, or after a Johto roleplay I created a while ago. Anyways enjoy! Feel free to post here if you have ideas or comments about the story. (But please try and keep it on subject of the story) Anyways enjoy!

The wind howled through a dark clearing, and blew into a few cave sets creating a very creepy whistle. The sounds of creatures came from the cave, their cries sounding like the distorted cry of a legend in the night. An ominous feeling filled the hearts of two boys as they walked along a darkening path. The first trainer, a brown haired boy who had a Cyndaquil on his shoulder. He opened his Pokegear, and loaded up his messages. While the second one, a golden haired child looked ahead of them with a blankened expression.

"Can you please put that away?" The gold haired boy growled crossly as the light effected his eyes. "If you keep lighting the area...the pokemon will know we're here" he said darkly.

"Sorry Lion" the other boy said in embarassment, and glanced at his Cyndaquil. The fire pokemon sighed, and jumped off his trainer's shoulder before looking around the clearing. "So which cave should we check first?" The boy finally asked, and glanced over to Lion.
"Elm said we need to find out what pokemon are hiding in the ruins. The best place to check is the ruin puzzles. Rumors state that they're more likely to appear once the puzzles are done" Lion said simply, and looked around. "Question is...where are those puzzles located?" He sighed, and looked around the clearing.

The boy looked up, and walked off towards a cave located by the town gate. "Over here. Cyndaquil, and I tried to solve them when we first came this way, but Snow showed up" he said with a sigh.

"Tiger? When is there a time that Snow doesn't show up? He's like never invited to anything" Lion asked slyly, and glanced at the other trainer. Tiger just rolled his eyes, and smiled.

"Snow is just...well he's a problem. He thinks that Team Rocket should get my special item, and I won't allow it..." Tiger said simply, and Cyndaquil nodded in agreement before growling something under his breath. Tiger glanced at his pokemon, and walked into the cave. Lion followed, and saw the partially started puzzle.

"So what do you think it is?" Lion asked as Tiger went to the puzzle. The trainer continued to work on the puzzle from where he left off before Snow attacked him.

"It's a Kabuto....I think" Tiger replied, and finished the puzzle. Lion jumped in shock as the whole room began to shake. There were cries of the strange pokemon, this time they sounded shocked, and tired as if being awakened. Tiger was still standing in front of the puzzle. He had one hand planted on the wall as the whole building seemed to sway in the earthquake like event. Soon the floor gave way where Tiger was standing. The trainer gasped as he fell into the ruins below.

Once the shaking subsided, and the puzzle room was once again quiet. Lion uncovered his ears, and opened his eyes. He took in the sight as he noticed Tiger wasn't standing in the room anymore, but where he was, was a hole. Lion ran to the edge of the puzzle platform, and looked over. He narrowed his eyes, and coughed as dust got into his face. "Tiger!? Are you alright!" Lion called down to his rival from there he was. There was no answer. Lion growled and stood up. He closed his eyes, "I swear if he's not dead I'll kill him" he said in a mixture of fear and concern. The boy then ran out of the cave, and back into the clearing.

Tiger coughed as dust swirled around the air. Cyndaquil was laying next to him, slightly hurt from the fall, but still in decent health. "This place is dangerous...why do they allow trainers to do those puzzles if they only end up falling down here. Great tourist trap guys...well done" the boy said dryly, and got to his feet. He picked up his Cyndaquil, and limped to the walls.
On the walls were weird patterns. They almost looked like words, except they had eyes, and reminded Tiger of a pokemon he'd seen in fairytales. Words? Or something else? Tiger thought to himself, and looked behind him as something flew by. His radio card on his pokegear then opened up, and played a very strange noise. At first the trianer thought it was nothing but the static that he got between stations. He then froze as he recognized the distorted cry of Ho-Oh. "Ho-Oh?" The trainer said quietly, and closed his pokegear once more as he heard another pokemon. "Who's there!" Tiger called out. His Cyndaquil then jumped to the ground, and prepared to battle. A moment later an Unown fluttered by, and looked at the two. It then flew away in shock, and fear.

"Strange..." Tiger began in confusion. Cyndaquil looked at him, and went back to his trainer, and climbed up onto Tiger's shoulder. A moment later something else flew behind them It was surrounded in shadow, and it screeched in a low, and distorted tone. Cyndaquil growled, and lit his backflames accidentally burning his trainer's cheek. "Ouch!" Tiger said in shock, and glared at Cyndaquil. The pokemon looked embarrassed, and jumped back to the ground. He then chased after the shadow. "Cyndaquil get back here!" Tiger said in shock, and ran after his pokemon.

The sounds of their footsteps could be heard echoing off the walls as the two ran. Cyndaquil then stopped as he came to a dead end. "Cyndaquil don't.." Tiger began, but cut himself off as the fire pokemon used a flamethrower. The shadowy figure then screeched, it's cry distorted, and dark. It then flew into a hole in the wall, and vanished. "What in the name of Arceus was that!" Tiger said in shock, and pulled his pokedex out. Nothing popped up.

"Tiger? TIGER!?" A voice sounded from down the hall, closer to the entrance. Tiger jumped in shock, and looked over to Cyndaquil. "Tiger where are you!" the voice said in concern. Tiger soon recognized it as Lion's voice.

"Come on we better get back to Lion before he kills us" Tiger joked quietly, and scooped up his pokemon once more. He then ran back to the ruins entrance. The shadowy figure flew out of its hiding spot and slowly followed the trainer.
