Haku walked into hand to hand combat class slowly, His boots
clacked against the floor. The black bandage over his lieft eye was
dark as night. Only his red right eye could be seen. He sat down at
an empty table in the front. He ignored some girls fighting to sit
next to him.
"Hm?" Paisley sarcastically asked. "Oh, no... Nothing at all." she
answered slyly, turning at both Drew and Lillian. "Let me settle
down..." she told herself, before glaring in Haku's direction and
rolling her eyes.
Mason's eyes scanned Sanaki rapidly, attempting to read her with no
success. "Well... use your magic to like -- heighten your focusing?
Combat is all about focus but also naturally defending yourself."
he suggested.
"Paisley, you've gotta be kidding..." Drew snorted, before staring
at Haku, who she didn't care for. She stretched a little, wondering
where the teacher was.
"Yeah, that'd be cool. If I knew how to do it." Sanaki said, her
face blank, as normal. "I can only do combat magic. For the time
being."
Lillian laughed a bit and turned her head towards where the teacher
was supposed to be. "Hey Drew, what skill do you have again?
I forgot." she asked, still facing that direction.
"What's the matter, Drew?" Paisley asked smirking, attempting to
act innocent. She then turned to Lillian and smiled. "I can answer
that for you: Drew has the power of Telekinesis which, in case you
didn't know, is the ability to move objects with the mind." she
answered matter-of-factly.
"I guess you could say our powers are kind of related, right?" she
asked Drew with a wink.
Mason nervously laughed, not entirely sure what else to do. He then
turned to the front of the classroom to see the teacher absent.
"Hm... that's odd..." he mumbled.
"Oh, I guess they are," Lillian replied to Paisley, not expecting
an answer from her instead of Drew. "If your ability's related to
Drew's, does that make yours the ability to defy gravity then? If
it was... then I wholeheartedly love that!" Lillian exclaimed, eyes
shining bright like the sun. After all, Lillian's only ability was
to withstand poison which wasn't as cool as telekinesis or
controlling water.
Drew opened her mouth to speak, but shut it angrily as soon as
Paisley spoke. "I can speak for myself." She snapped, leaning back
a little to glare at Paisley. "I could probably throw you into a
wall."
"He probably got killed. Lots of that happens around here." Sanaki
said nonchalantly, yawning softly.
Paisley chuckled. “Well, I could levitate and kick you.” she
retaliated with a somewhat flirty smile in order to hide her
nervousness of Drew’s threat actually happening. “Why don’t we get
class started ourselves?” Paisley suggested quickly, hoping she was
fast enough with the proposal before Drew would be able to
respond.
Mason turned at Sanaki and then at Paisley. He focused on her, a
short jingle ringing in his head as he read her emotions. “She’s
not afraid of Drew, but she definitely doesn’t know how to react to
an attack like that.” he told the fellow student beside him before
he noticed what Sanaki said. “Wait? Killed?” he asked.
Haku sat at the table and opened a book and started reading. He was
reading a book of combat strategies. He didn't really notice that
the teacher was gone
Mason blankly stared at Haku. At the sound of Amara's voice, he
turned in her direction. "Hm?... Oh... We're just theorizing that
the Combat Teacher was killed." he answered in a mumble.
Haku turned around and looked at Amara then he turned back around,
He had a fun idea. He observed her snake ability and then tried it.
He moved his fingers to the left and the snake moved to the left.
He smiled but it was hidden.
"Seems silent in the hallways, and if they were killed, there would
have been some sort of commotion. My brother Kyoto even said so
himself." Luke looked at everyone. "Him and I were like a special
ops back in the day. Doing government missions, saving the world,
that kinda stuff." He chuckled.
Sanaki glanced around nervously before whispering in Mason's ear.
"We're obviously being trained to become government death machines.
One probably killed the teacher, I've heard they were trying to get
rid of him. He knew too much. Don't say a word or I'll kill
you."
Drew frowned at Paisley. "Are you trying to flirt? That's lame.
Maybe I should follow through on my words." She said, as one of the
officals walked in.
"Your teacher was killed in an accident. You have a free period.
Now go." He said, sweat showing under his thick mop of brown hair.
Drew stood and stretched a little, as Sanaki gave Mason a look
saying "I told you so".
"Accident..." Luke muttered, "Someone's gotta be setting us up, he
bailed. Had to have, someone who is supposed to protect us would
have picked up on a struggle. Screaming, something."
