Profs Contest Quest Complaint
Forum-Index → Bug Reports → Resolved → Profs Contest Quest ComplaintUpon quickly skimming pages of threads to see if this was addressed & found 1 trying to implement a change to the contest; via interactions. - Not sure if anything has actually happened, since there isn't a Rowan/Oak contest quest in the interactions page.
I also wish there was a way to terminate the quest because in the end I will still be undeniably degraded upon by rowan because I failed. Even though I did all I could in my power to level up, whatever pokemon at the time, fast enough.
Please please please do something about this to make it more fair to those of us who still want to have a good challenge but realistically achievable.
If you're doing the wailord or magikarp quests with only interactions though, yeah that's going to get hard. You need to prepare for it instead: rare candies.
I might kind of live on PH but I can barely make 4k interacts on a good day while in China cause of the slow wifi. The majority of the PH community make few interactions as well. If I remember correctly, the quest even tells you that the other prof cheated with candies so isn't that a hint to use them as well? :)
Of course though, that might not have been Ri's intention - this is just my interpretation.

Yes there are those that are on lots, but we shouldn't have to live on PH just to complete a side quest. & I normally never think to farm rare candies until after I've seen it come up. I do remember rejecting the last quest that I was offered. Since then it has been a while so I forgot to reject again.
It isn't just going to be handed to you when so many others manage to finish it each time (5 times you get golden pokeballs, the last time you get retro magikarp)
and there's ways around it if you're not that active.
-You could collect and use rare candies, as silverstar said
-Do a hashtag contest/giveaway for people to feed your pokemon berries
-Be somewhat active and interact when you can
-Pay attention to x2 days, and make sure people interact with your pokemon on those days. (With the hashtag contest possibly)

And 50 levels in 12 hours is a tad overestimating, the highest I've seen by the time the pokemon is taken back is around level 200 - and you have a week to get higher than that
If you can read this, you know how to read.

You are correct on the point that it is a side quest and not really essential to the gameplay. Therefore, you could reject all of them if you didn't want the final reward. However, you are incorrect on the Magikarp. The final reward is a Shadow Mewtwo.
