Two were betrothed to one another. Neither was sure how to feel about it. Sometimes they were excited, sometimes they felt like they're whole chance at love was being tossed to the wind. But they're getting married today, what can they do? They've never even met. This was only because of money, it seemed. Maybe they can fall in love
This should be fun.

Teresa sat on her bed, in her pajamas. She sat crisscross on the bed, hands gripping the sheets as she stared down at the printed comforter. "Tonight I'll be a married woman." She said, voice almost a whisper. She shudder. Her fingers loosened their grip as she felt the urge to cry.

No, she did not dislike her fiancée. She was glad her parents took things in to consideration, including her sexuality. It's just... She wanted to be a free girl. She wasn't even a legal adult yet, but she had to be married. She'd only dated once before. Her future with dating was being taken. She ran a hand through her hair. She was being selfish.

She wondered if her fiancée liked her. The two had only met once, due to their parents being good friends and a gala. The two had been children. Teresa had spent ten minutes admiring the girl from afar before talking to her. The conversation was short because Teresa had to leave. Her mother was getting sick. She had liked the girl, and, hell, she still did! She just wished she knew her more.

She felt wet tears drip down her cheeks, but she wiped them away. She blinked the rest from her eyes, hearing a knock. She looked up to see her older brother. "Teresa. Father wants you to come downstairs and get breakfast. It's 11:50. The wedding is at 3:00, so after breakfast you must get ready for the wedding." He said, eyes sad as he watches his sister stand.

"Thank you, Mano. Tell Father I'll be down in a few minutes after I get my contacts in." She hummed. Mano nodded, closing the door as he left. She went into the bathroom and put on her contacts, and she looked at herself.

Her eyes weren't sad, just dull. She wore a black tank top and grey sweatpants, and her hair was tied up in a messy bun. She sighed, exiting her room. She walked down the steps, and sat at the table, glancing up at her father. He smiled at her, setting some breakfast before her and getting some for himself.

Today was her wedding day, and she hadn't slept one bit. Although that was not unusual, she would usually stay up quite late for hours on end, but always rested a few hours in the day. Sorrell would not be able to rest now, she had to get herself ready for what was to come.

Walking into her restroom, she looked at herself through the mirror. Sorrell resisted to urge to wrinkle her face in disgust, the most prominent feature were the bags under her dead, unexpressive, brown eyes. She internally panicked 'I could cover them up with makeup.. but I never bothered to learn how to use it.. heck, what do you even use to cover up bags anyways..?' Would her bride even care? Sorrell decided to take a gamble, and just moved onto straightening her short, messy, brown hair. She had taken a shower last night, and didn't bother combing it when she got out. 'I probably should've combed my hair when I got out of the shower last night.. sheesh.. I'm such a mess.'

It took her an awful amount of time to get ready, half an hour later she slid down the staircase to grab a quick snack. Reaching a hand towards the kitchen counter she grabbed an apple and put it into her mouth. Sorrell was halfway up the staircase before she heard her mother asking her what she wanted for breakfast. Sorrell turned around, pulling the apple out of her mouth "I'm not that hungry.. so I just grabbed a quick snack. I'll eat at the wedding." she responded, her voice as monotone as usual.

Her mother hesitated for a quick second, then left for her room to finish getting ready. 'I'm almost twenty.. I'm a full-grown independent woman now.. and mom knows that.' That thought lifted her spirits. Racing up the stairs she went into her room. Sorrell noticed Felix resting comfortably on her bed, she smiled. 'I'll best not disturb him.. he looks so content just laying there.' now onto the main reason she came in here. The tuxedo.

Sorrell wasn't a dress kinda gal. She never was. Ever since she was little she refused to wear dresses and skirts. Nothing has really changed since then, at least if we're talking clothing-wise. Reaching to her wardrobe she pulled out a black suit with matching pants. She set the outfit on her bed before grabbing a white button down shirt to wear under the suit. 'I have my clothes out...
and we still have a bit of time before the wedding.. I'll change later.. I don't want to be sitting around in those uncomfortable clothes just yet..'
she thought, moving the cat. The cat awoke suddenly, a surprised look on his face. "Felix, go sleep on the couch.. okay? I don't want you putting cat hair on my wedding suit.." the understood, to some degree. She set him down and he felt the room. "Good cat.." she muttered.

Sorrell sat in her office chair, letting out a sigh. She thought back to when she first met her bride. 'I still had long hair back then..' she smirked. She had seen her out of the corner of her eye. Sorrell hadn't really talked to her, she just watched her curiously from a distance. 'I wonder what she looks like now.. it's been a long time since I've seen her.. has she changed since then?' she thought, resting her head on her desk. 'I'm so tired.. I don't remember when I last got some sleep.. three days maybe? Ugh..' she closed her eyes. 'It wouldn't hurt to get a few minutes of sleep in..' and with that final thought she slowly drifted off to sleep.

Teresa sighed as she slid her plate away from her, setting her fork on top of it. She had finished rather quickly. She stood, grabbing the plate and taking it to the sink. She cleaned it, putting it in the dishwasher. She closed the dishwasher, looking at the table. Her brother sat by her father, both eating. Her mom was standing by the fridge, a distant look in her eyes. Teresa blinked and smiled as her mother glanced at her. "Oh, my little flower. Why don't you head up stairs and brush your hair and teeth? You can hang out a but until I come up to help you with your dress. Also, please take your dress out of the closet." Teresa nodded, walking to her mom.

"Of course, mama." She hummed, kissing the woman's wrinkled cheek. She continued past her, up the stairs, and into her room. She went into her bathroom, grabbing her toothbrush. She didn't have perfectly white teeth, but her teeth were white nonetheless. She'd never let them slip to yellow. She brushed her teeth over two minutes, trying to make sure it was perfect. She wanted to look good. She spit out the toothpaste, cleaning the sink and toothbrush of any paste.

She put away her toothbrush, and picked up her hairbrush. Taking her hair out of her bun, she began to brush. She went through her long hair piece by piece, making sure it was untangled and sleek. She floofed it with her hand, watching the strands tumble through her fingers in waves of midnight black. She smiled, and brushed through once more... For good measure.

She went into her room, opening her closet. She pulled out the dres, staring at it. It was ivory white, and was very beautiful. When she had it on, it hugged her upper half well, and at her hips it flared out to the floor. The back of the dress was open almost completely, with her whole back was visible in one V shape. It was laced across the open area, where skin was still visible. It had a flowery design to it. There were no straps, but sleeves started well past her shoulders and where barely an inch wide. They had lace on the bottom, white and pure. The back of the skirt was longer than the front, a lacey fabric trailing along the floor as she walked when she was wearing the gown. She smiled. She didn't dislike the dress, she loved it. She just wasn't used to frilly things. She laid it on her bed, and grabbed the shoes she'd wear with it. White heels that showed her red toenails. She set the pair by the dress with a smile.

She was excited. She plopped into her couch in her room, and turned on the television. She smiled. She flipped to the food channel, finding comfort in this channel. She loved cooking. She sat and watched for a while, and looked at the clock. It was 12:50. Oh my. She had spent almost an hour watching the show.

It had been an hour since Sorrell had fallen asleep, she opened her eyes and lifted her heard off her desk. 'What time is it now? How long was I asleep?' she thought, stealing a quick glance at her clock. It was 1:00! 'Damn.. I totally slept more than I few minutes..' But what that a bad thing?

"Maybe I should change into my suit?" she said this out loud, then suddenly thought against it.
'No.. I have quite a bit of time left.. but should I change into it now or later? You know.. if I keep stalling.. I'm going to run out of time to change.' she knew what she had to do.

It didn't take her long, after what seemed to be about a minute she finally had her suit and pants on. 'My heels are probably downstairs..' she thought, grabbing her phone off her desk. She checked the time once again, hardly any time had passed since the last time she had checked. Sorrell then opened a game app, "Might as well burn some more time.." she muttered, killing a monster with her in-game avatar. "Hah, you're no match for me." she taunted, killing another monster.

When she wasn't spending time with her parents or working, she'd play video games, or read a book. It distracted her from reality. Books were an insightful source of information while video games made her feel powerful, in a way. 'Although it's just a game.. I shouldn't let it get in the way with family time and my work.' she reminded herself. Sorrell closed the app and looked at her clock "1:45.." she muttered, plugging her phone into the charger cord. "Has it been that long?" Thinking on it now, it probably has been that long. Those quests take up quite a bit of time. "Well then.. I guess I'll go grab another snack. It's been a while since I've finished that apple."

Getting up, she walked down the staircase and turned left, walking into the kitchen. 'I wonder what's in the fridge?' Opening the fridge she looked inside, there was quite the selection of food available. Sorrell grabbed a snack tray and sat on the couch. Felix opened his eyes "No no, you can't sit on my lap. You're going to get cat hair all over my suit." the cat jumped off the couch and ran off somewhere. She let out a sigh and opened her tray. There were carrots, grapes, pretzels, and cubed cheese. Sorrell ate the carrots and pretzels first, saving the grapes for last. Sorrell spent ten minutes eating her snack tray, it was almost two o'clock. "The wedding... at three.. I'm a little nervous." she said out loud.

Teresa blinked as her mother entered the room in her own outfit for the wedding. Her mother was dressed in a blush colored gown that reached the floor, and it had pink accents across it. It was beautiful, making Teresa smile a bit. "Alright, darling, let's get you changed." Her mother said, making her nod.

Teresa slipped out of her clothes, and her mother helped her into the dress. She zipped it up a bit, only to the low back where the open back cut began. Her mother grabbed the makeup and brush while Teresa slipped on her shoes. Teresa stood, and looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes widened. Even without makeup, everything was beautiful. Her skin was a sweet contrast to the beautiful white dress, and it showed her curves. She smiled.

Her mother began to apply makeup, humming as she did so. She applied eyeliner, and red lipstick. She put blush and mascara on Tersa, trying to make her seem pristine. She put on neutral eyeshadow, and finally pulled away. "There, flower. You're even more beautiful." Teresa laughed at her mother's compliment. She looked in the mirror with a smile. She did look pretty.

The whole family got in the car outside, heading to the coven where they'd wed Teresa to the other girl. Teresa got out slowly, and stood. She closed the door, and they headed into the large pavilion. The area was already set up with tables and played and silverware. Teresa grabbed her phone, turning it on to check the time.

2:45. The people were supposed to be there at 3, but the ceremony would begin whenever the people were seated. Teresa felt her mother place the veil on her head, and sighed. She was nervous. Two of her cousins were bridesmaids, her big brother was the flower boy, and her sister in law was the ring bearer. Teresa swallowed. She'd have to practice vows quickly with her bride, and it would be really rushed.

Sorrell's parents called her over "Sorrell sweetie, it's time to go." this was it. We were going to the wedding. Sorrell was honestly more nervous than excited. She walked over to the front of the house, a few pairs of shoes were set out. Now she had to decide 'Hmm.. heels or flats? ..Flats.' she decided, slipping on her black flats and walking out the door.

The three of them made it into the car, the drive wouldn't be too bad, and they weren't too far from where they needed to be. Sorrell's father took the driver's seat, and her mother took the passenger seat. 'I guess I'm sitting in the back.' she thought, opening the car door, sitting down, and putting on her seat belt.

"If I'm going to be honest, mom. I'm pretty nervous.. but I'm also excited." she said. Sorrell's mother flashed her a reassuring smile "Don't be nervous, Sorrell. It's your wedding day." Well, that was true, but.. "What if I say the wrong thing? Or.. make a fool of myself.. or.." before she could go on her mother shushed her. "Everything will be fine, there's no need to worry. Let's just get to where we need to be, alright?" she was right, there was no real need to worry. Everything would turn out fine!

Before Sorrell knew it she and her parents had arrived at their destination. Sorrell got out of the car, ruffling her hair and adjusting her suit. 'I wonder where my bride is..?' she looked around nervously. It was 2:47.. people would be arriving soon. Sorrell looked around, so many white chairs and flowers.. and food! 'Maybe this won't be so bad after all.. I seriously need to stop being such a worry wart.. I'm an adult for crying out loud.. I need to maintain a calm composure. Especially on my wedding day!' Wait, how did she look? 'I don't think I ever found a way to cover the bags under my eyes.. jeez. Well, no matter... it's all in the past now.. no need to worry so much about it..' she calmed herself down.

I need to practice the wedding vow too.. oh god. Sorrell realized. 'No, calm down. Everything will be okay. she told herself. Sorrell walked around awkwardly, not really sure what she was supposed to be doing at the moment. I wonder who will be coming to the wedding... maybe my aunts.. and my cousins.. if they're even able to make it. They're always so busy..' she sighed. It was her wedding day. 'I never knew this day would ever come..'

Teresa had closed her eyes and started to hum softly. She hummed a lullaby she'd learned as a young girl, and the notes where jumping and lulling. She felt a soft smile slid onto her lips, her nerves falling away. She always hummed this to make her less nervous and to relax. She continued her soft humming.

She was jolted out of her meditation by a hand on her arm. She looked to see her mother looking at her with a huge smile. Teresa was lightly confused until she heard her mother speak. "Your bride is here, my little flower!" Teresa felt her nerves hit her like a freaking bus. She almost broke out in a cold sweat, but she swallowed and smiled nervously. "We have to go see her. Well, I have to make sure she knows her vows and all. Her mother and I have decided that we are going to be old fashioned and not allow you to see one another until the ceremony." Her mom explained. Teresa nodded.

Her mother scampered off to a car, and noticed three people. Two females, it seemed. Teresa looked away, looking around at other things. She noticed other people arriving and beginning to sit. Teresa stood in the white, Victorian style pavilion, leaning against the fence surrounding the raised platform. She hung her head, her wavy hair falling in a curtain around her face. She felt warm in the afternoon sun that shone on her in the pavilion. Her brother stood by her, glancing at the people their mom had walked to.

"Hello!" Mother, Alleana, said, waving to Sorrel and her parents. Her dress blew in the soft breeze, a sweet smile on her lips.

"Hello!" Sorrell heard a feminine voice say, she turned to see a woman she did not recognize at first, 'Who is that? Wait hold on..' but then it dawned on her "Mrs. Octain is that you..?" Sorrell called out to the woman. She approached what seemed to be Mrs. Octain, after walking a bit closer she knew she had guessed right. "I haven't seen you in such a long time..! I almost didn't recognize you.." she chuckled nervously. This wedding was supposed to start whenever all the guests have arrived. 'They should all be getting here very soon..'

Her mother, Madison Hart, interrupted her train of thought by coming to greet Mrs. Octain "Oh, greetings Alleana! It's been a while, hasn't it? How's your girl Teresa been doing?" she asked, walking up next to Sorrell, her father following right after her mother. 'Teresa.. what a lovely name.' Sorrell smiled, she was already starting to like her bride already. "Sorrell, don't you need to be practicing your vows?" her father questioned, that's right! She was supposed to be practicing her vows! "Oh, thanks for reminding me dad. I'll go find Teresa." she left her parents and Mrs. Octain, in search of Teresa.

Sorrell suddenly noticed a beautiful white dress, was this her? It had to be! "Um.. are you the one they call Teresa?" she asked sheepishly, looking down at the ground. 'She's beautiful.. I can't believe she's going to be marrying a loser like me.. she's so out of my league..' she was awaiting a response, her overall timidness taking over. 'I can't stand this silence..' she decided to be the first one to break it "U-um.. the guests will be arriving shortly.. I just thought we might want to practice our vows.. y'know.. that kind of stuff." she spoke, shuffling her feet awkwardly. 'Lord help me, I think I'm going to faint.'

Alleana smiled at Sorrel, nodding softly. "Haha, silly girl." She said, winking at the girl. She looked up at the young lady's daughter, and smiled. "Ah, yes. It's been too long. And yes, Teresa is doing well. As a matter of fact," She turned to point at the pavilion her daughter and son were, "she's over there with her brother, Mano." She hummed softly.

She noticed Sorrel head off to approach Teresa, smiling. "Ah, they are going to have a lot to catch up on. But once they do, they're definitely a great couple." She purred, glancing at the parents of her soon-to-be daughter-in-law. She smirked lightly. "Well! I have to go greet guests! I'll talk to you at the after party." She hummed, waving as she walked off to greet and direct guests on seating.
•••••
Teresa had watched her brother walk off to go talk to their cousin, Maria. She smiled. They were close, almost as close as Mano and herself. She sighed, leaning a against the fence again and sighing. She jumped lightly when she heard a voice, straightening herself and looking to see who it was.

Her eyes were met with hazel brown eyes and a nervous girl. Her heart began to pound a bit. She coughed into her hand, and smiled sweetly. On the inside, she was nervous, but she couldn't let that show. "Yes, I'm Teresa. I suppose you are Sorrel?" She hummed softly, smiling at the taller girl. Hell, these heels weren't making her much taller. She shifted, her dress doing the same.

"I believe we should practice vows, yes. Quickly though. Uhm, I believe you go first." She hummed, pressing her hands together. She held them against her stomach, and shifted lightly. She swallowed. She found herself looking at Sorrel and studying her face. She looked down for a moment, catching a breath.
