I was thinking on doing a shiny beldum hunt after my current one. But I was unsure if they can be bred as they are a genderless pokemon. Is the only way to hunt for genderless pokemon to get eggs through the tall grass and gem exchange system? Or am I missing something?

You can get them through breeding them with ditto or from Gem exchange

As LordLucario has said, genderless pokemon can be bred using a ditto with the pokemon like in the real games ^^

Of course, if you've hatched that pokemon before, it can also be obtained using gems from the gem collector and if you have the chip, from the tall grass (this also depends on if there are any eggs of that pokemon in the tall grass though).

Since your pokemon pair wouldn't have the same dex number though, less eggs would be produced in comparison to a normal hunt.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'm going to have to prepare a bit if I want to get a shiny Metagross.
