For some strange reason, when Staravia is put in the PC it has a white box around it. I had 2 Staravias and when I was organizing my storage boxes the Starvias had a white box/background thing around them.

I believe this is a sprite bug because it happened to both of the Staravia in my box and only those 2.

EDIT: This is when you view the storage boxes for setting up a GTS trade/Auction House/Daycare Deposit/Rumbling, not the 'Storage Boxes' link in the home tab.

List of Sprites broken:
Staravia
Zubat
Simisage
Skitty

I have a similar problem but instead of Staravia, it's Zubat for me.

The Alolan pokémon aren't really broken, they simply haven't been implemented yet.
The other mini-sprites did, at one point, exist on site, so to have a broken image for those is more of a bug.

However, as it seems to affect different pokémon for different users, could it be your internet? That one sprite that fails to load, rather than an image that no longer exists on PH itself. None of the sprites seem broken for me [for now]. Have you tried clearing your cache?

It can't be my internet, caché or even my browser.

I use different connections throughout the day (my mobile data at school, my wifi at home, a different wifi connection at work) and Zubat always shows with the white box behind it when I set up a trade/auction/etc..

It seems highly unlikely for it to be my caché because on my laptop I clear it every time I upload a new avatar....... which happens to be frequently... *sweat*

And it can't be my browser either because I use Safari on my phone and Google Chrome on my laptop...

to be honest the bug doesn't really bother me, but I did decide to address it and these issues because I noticed it wasn't Staravia for me (and other users).

I've noticed the same thing, but like others, different pokemon. I have cleared my cache and browsing history. I've tried chrome, IE, and IE on my phone. It's the same pokemon on my phone as well.

Zubat - white background behind sprite
Onix - white background
Bidoof - white background
Tom Nook - white background
Tom Nook (Seller) - white background

@CatLady
When the Alolan pokemon are implemented, will the photos we have already taken be changed to normal or will be have to redo the photo?

As what Margreat experienced, I also noticed a weird white background around some of my Pokémon's sprite. :S

Unlike her, I only saw this weird problem when I was about to dress up my Pokémon (my Event Mareep) with accessoires. :O

But, as I was checking those sprites (from places where Margreat saw that peculiar background..) when setting up a GTS trade/Auction House/Daycare Deposit/Rumbling, not the 'Storage Boxes' link in the home tab, the "same" thing happens as well.. that annoying white background is still there with my Pokémon. :/

The only affected Pokémon (sprites) in my boxes are :

Shiny Mareep & Shiny Wurmple

Mareep
Wurmple
Palpitoad

Spring Mareep & Autumn Mareep = This is the part where I first noticed that weird white background, until I saw this thread and then checked my other Pokémon if they have it too. (See above links from this one) :(

If it makes any difference, I use my phone (Samsung S5) to login here while using a Chrome browser.. but, I made sure that after first seeing that weird white background, I kept on clearing the cache, checking that I have good WiFi (which i have) and even restarting my phone (for giod measures).. just to see if the white background disappears, and it didn't. :B

I won the "Event Spriting Contest" as it says on News Announcement #224.

Is anyone still seeing a white box behind their pokémon?
