Mary silently makes her way over to the pokeballs.She didn't want one from her home region or any neighboring regions.She stopped at the Kalos pokemon.There was one that seemed to pull at her.She picked up the pokeball.Which one are you?She thinks to herself before glancing down at the name tags."Froakie."She whispers to herself before smiling.This was the one she wanted.She turned and held it up for the professor to see.

Professor Oak looks at Mary and Manny and smiles. "Great! I just need to give you two something.." Oak says, as he gets two Pokedexes. Prof.Oak then hands them to Mary and Manny and smiles. "Back in my day, I was once a trainer like you two, just getting ready to go on my adventure. Now, as I'm old, I just want you to record the pokemon you catch in your pokedex, and from time to time come back here to check in with me on it." Oak said, as he looked away. "Well, I don't wanna hold you two any longer. Go forth, trainers!" Prof.Oak says, as a grin appears on his face.

"Sure thing Professor!" Manny says as he takes the Pokedex and sends Treecko out. "I'm gonna name you..Leafy!" Manny says, as Treecko smiles to the nickname. Manny then walks out of the Lab, taking Treecko and his new Pokedex with him.

Mary smiles at the old professor and bows.She then lets Froakie out.She bounds up onto her shoulders and they both walk outside of the lab.She stops a little ways from Manny.She sets her Froakie down on the ground."I..I would l..like to give you a n..name if that is alright Miss Froakie."She says quietly while stuttering badly.The Froakie nods her head."H..How about N..Nero.It means w..water."Mary suggested.Nero nodds her head happy with the name choice."T..Then it is a pleassure to meet you Nero."She says happily while giving a soft smile to Nero.Nero responds back and runs up Mary's shoulder to sit on.Mary then makes her way silently over to Manny."M..Manny?Did you get the Treecko you wanted?"She asks quietly making her pressence known.

Manny was about to sprint when he stopped and looked at Mary. "Yeah! Leafy! Meet Mary!" Manny says, as Leafy greets Mary with a warm smile, and a wave. "Did you get the pokemon you wanted?" Manny asks, as he notices that she's been timid. "Also, are you okay? You seem kinda nervous." He says, sticking his hand out and smiles at Mary.

"I am a bit nervous yes.I'll be okay though."Mary admitted while blushing."Yes I did get a pokemon I wanted.Nero meet Manny,Manny meet Nero."She says softly.She takes his hand that he offered.Nero was trying to get Leafy to play with her.

Leafy notices the invitation from Nero, and has a light blush cover his face. Leafy joins, as Manny smiles at the two. "Aww, that's adorable." He says, as he walks with Mary.

"I don't know really.They always seemed like a pokemon that is a protector.That may be why."Mary said scratching at her neck.Nero giggles and takes a little bit of her frubble and wipes it on Leafy's nose before hopping a little ways away.

Mary watched as the two pokemon played with eachother.She didn't mind the silence that fell between her and Manny.It was a comfortable silence.Her hold on Manny's hand tightens just a little bit.Nero turned and started hopping backwards before triping and falling.
