The day starts early in the morning. A light snow fell through the
night and will slowly melt away through the day. The wolves do NOT
have their powers yet.
Hannu sat with Lockhart for the time being as agreement with Maku.
They had agreed to take turns helping their mother who was starting
to become blind in one eye from age. Maku was out surveying the
area around the main alpha den doing his regular perimeter check.
Though he was doing a good job he couldn't help but hope to see the
alpha female at least once before he went further down his
rounds.
Saba laid in the grass within the pack perimeter she couldn't help
but lay and soak up the sun. She enjoyed the feeling of the heat on
her skin. Though her peace was occasionally interrupted by a kick
in the side by one of the pups.
Luna sat tall in looking around. Her eyes on the camp. The white
female smiled as she watched. The snow made her paws cold as she
sat on the High Rock that sat over the camp. Her blue eyes studied
each wolf as she saw Hawk pad out of the camp. She could tell by
his posture he would go hunting.
Saga raced around the camp, looking for someone to take her
hunting. She was far more excited than she should be, but then
again, until Saba's pups were born, she would remain the youngest
in the pack.
Scar growled seeing Saga act like a pup. He ended up snapping at
her. "You need to stop acting like a pup! You are in training and
you better start acting like it!" He watched as Saga skid to a stop
and lowered her head.
Maku watched Luna closely he didn't know if he would stand a chance
he silently hoped he did. He kept watching until a branch began to
weigh itself down and drop all the snow from it onto his head. He
snorted then shook it off. He sighed quietly. "Today isn't my
day."
Saba giggled seeing the display. "Now now scar she can't help it
she is still a pup. Give her a good chase that will help her
release her energy."
Scar growled. "Chasing pups is not worth my time" he said. "She
needs to learn that life isn't all fun and games." With that, the
black wolf padded out of the camp.
Luna shook her head hearing Scar. She knew he needed to learn to
calm down, though worried what would happen if he didn't. It seemed
anything and everything upset the dark male.
Hannu watched the outside of the makeshift home her and Maku made
to shelter their mother from the weather.
Saba huffed then stuck her tongue out at Scar and mumbled to
herself. "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this
morning." She looked around seeing if she could find hawk.
Maku looked away and begin walking the perimeter again.
Shadow woke up on the cold winter morning and went outside, "man it
was cold". He then saw some of the pups playing around and played
around with them. He then saw the alpha on the rock he didn't
realize he was staring then he was about to go hunting but nobody
wanted to go hunting with him he then yelled "DOES ANYONE WANT TO
GO HUNTING WITH ME"? Or if nobody did he would just go alone.
Sam went outside and started wandering around because he just woke
up and was sleepy then he ran into a tree and all the snow fell on
him. by then he was awake and Very cold.
Hannu and Maku traded spots for a couple hours it was now Maku's
turn to watch over Lockhart. As Hannu walked out of the cave she
giggled seeing sam covered in snow. She padded over to him and
helped brush snow off of him. "Having trouble waking up today?"
"Yeah I don't like winter that much, its to cold". "The snow
attacked me its like it has a mind of its own". The snow is evil.
"Well im completely up". How is Lockhart doing?
"I think her eye is getting worse.. I'm worried something bad might
happen to her if we don't watch her closely, but so far she is
doing okay. She is still able to eat so I think she is fine." Hannu
said calmly.
Luna glanced around and noticed Saga had moved to her den. She
looked to the entrance and saw Hawk coming in with two fairly large
birds. "Good hunting I assume Hawk" Luna spoke. She got a simple
nod as the male wolf dropped off the food and headed to lay next to
Saba.
"That still concerns me.." Saba said looking down at the grass
peaking through the snow. "I can't help, but worry that they may
run into our territory, and try to steal the young ones." Saba
couldn't help having a big heart even for the pups that weren't
hers or abandoned. She began to love all the pups, but knew with
the ones on the way she may not be able to handle all of the pups
at once. But on occasion she did think about taking saga as her
own.
Hannu nodded. "I'll go tell Luna about Lockhart's condition. And
see if there is anything else I need to do."
Hawk shook his head. "Don't worry about them until they cross into
our territory. I know Luna wouldn't stress over it. Besides, we
will keep everyone safe" he said.
"I know. So what do you think the pups will want to be?" Saba said
looking up at Hawk. She knew it was a sudden topic change, but she
didn't want to work herself to much about worrying of things she
can't control.
Hannu walked to Luna, and begun her report. "Good morning Luna.
Today Lockhart is still doing well. The blindness hasn't affected
her left eye yet."
Luna looked at Hannu and thought for a moment. "I might have an
idea. Saga needs something to do when she isn't training, and
Lockheart needs someone to watch her. Would you be alright with
Saga helping out? The two could go on walks and it might help
Lockheart not worry about her eyesight leaving" she said
calmly.
Hawk smiled. "I am sure they would love to be hunters or fighters"
he said before licking her cheek once more. "And they will be
beautiful like you."
Sam was all warmed up and he stepped out of the den and saw shadow
coming back from a hunt a few small birds sam then laid down in the
snow with sunlight on him and started to think about his childhood
but couldn't remember very much.
Shadow was heading out of the forest with a few small birds that he
caught. He was still frustrated that he couldn't find anything
else. He then dropped the birds by the ones hawk got and went to
his den in frustration.
Hannu pondered the thought for a moment. "I wouldn't mind it, but
what would Maku do? He would still have night duty, but he wouldn't
have anything to do in the day time besides watching the
perimeter.."
Saba blushed and giggled. "Oh hawk you always find a way to flatter
me even in a boring conversation." She licked him back, and tugged
on his ear. "Your such a flirt. I hope the pups don't end up
carrying that attribute it may get them in trouble." She said
teasingly.
