Many people brag about having the First Shiny/Shiny Mega On Site. But the only way they can tell is through their Pokedex, and you can't even tell the Shiny/Normal Ratio if that Pokemon is not in your Dex. And the only way to verify the claims is to scan the Notification Wall and find the person who first posted it.

To me, owning the first Shiny Ditto On Site would be a HUGE accomplishment (even though it's pretty much based on luck, still, to be able to show off such a prize...) I would be WAY more proud of this than I ever would be earning a Medal from the Rally.

Edit: (Previous Suggestion Removed)
After discussion with my dad, we determined that the better course of action (and easier option as opposed to recreating the Sprites), would be to have a Miniature Medal, or a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th) next to where the Mega-Able Icon would be)

I really don't support this for many different reasons.

It could be a nice addition but medals are for something that's achieveable and not obtained on a first come first serve basis. They're merits. This Pokèmon medal you're suggesting is only obtained if you own the first five shinies and that's just quite unfair. What if all shinies/mega medals are just all already given out? What if someone really wanted that one medal but then someone got it instead and they lost the chance forever? They can't try again, these medals are limited and no longer obtainable. That's quite unfair for newer users late to the party, yes? It's a great achievement but on a site like this, first onsite isn't very important from what I've seen other than bragging rights. Prices and value drops since economy isn't exactly predictable so other than means of showing off it isn't a merit or something that's worth a medal in my opinion.

The Medal Rally medals are given out to anyone willing to join the current round and work for it, but it's always there, it isn't limited and you can try out whenever you want to. You just need the determination to get it, but like I've mentioned in the previous paragraph this 'Pokèmon Medal' is limited and just seems to unfair especially since there's already a handful amount of shinies onsite.

Honestly, I don't even see what's the attraction of getting the first one site or anything. It's cool and all but you're just faster than everybody else, nothing huge. You get a thing to brag about or show around but that's really it since it doesn't matter and should just stay like so.

what if instead of medals they were ribbons, and they went on the pokemon, then anyone who clicked on that pokemon would see that it was the first of its kind and not as an achievement base thing but as a verification method, currently the only way to know which shiny is the first is if they nickname it "first shiny" and thats based completely on trust really, anyone could get that shiny and say its the first shiny. but if there was ribbons on the pokemon for first shiny, or first mega, or highest level or anything really. then it would give people a reason to work towards getting the first of a thing but not to the point where people would be upset that theyve missed the chance forever.

No support.

Soviet sums up my ideas on this pretty well, especially on the unfair aspect of it.

@keife191 -
I don't really see the difference between the Medal and the Ribbon in this case...

"This Pokèmon medal you're suggesting is only obtained if you own the first five shinies and that's just quite unfair"

I think you misunderstood me. FIVE people get FIVE different medals. Pretend that my bf and I each got a Shiny Mega Fennekin (which don't exist, but for examples sake). I got the first one, so I get a medal marking the achievement of "First Shiny Mega Fennekin On Site", and he gets one for the "Second Shiny Mega Fennekin On Site"

I don't even see how this was misunderstood, as I specifically said "there be placed a Medal for users who have one of the first FIVE Shiny of any Pokemon On Site AND the first FIVE Shiny Mega of any Pokemon On Site."

"What if someone really wanted that one medal but then someone got it instead and they lost the chance forever? They can't try again, these medals are limited and no longer obtainable."

If you took your Shiny Chain to a 1000+ in order to get that Shiny Mega, you DESERVE that medal, regardless of how much others will whine or cry about it. Within five years, all these medals will have been obtained, keeping new players from achieving them. Who cares? There are always going to be new achievements, new everything. Instead of newbies complaining about not being able to get badges that have been already for five years already, they should be focused on obtaining the ones currently available. Besides for that, there are HUNDREDS of Pokemon that aren't Mega-Able yet, so newbies will ALWAYS have a chance to get one of these medals, especially if Pokemon keeps creating them.

Well, my bf suggested another means...What if the First Shiny Mega Pokemon WEARS a ribbon or medal verifying that it is, in fact, the first of its kind. It not only accomplishes my wish of bragging rights, but, should the person ever want to get rid of it, now ANOTHER user, even a Newbie, can own it. Therefore, it settles your issues of unfairness. And I don't mean like a visible medal or ribbon, as that would take hundreds of hours to edit each individual Sprite for each individual type of medal, but perhaps an icon on their display, similar to that of a Mega-Able Ball, or Shiny Red Star.

If it were a mark on the pokemon like you mentioned on your most recent post, I'm all for it. Although I am fairly indifferent to first shinies on site, I do think it is cool, and actually keep track of what number shiny I hatched privately for fun. I will also hatch a shiny ditto in the future, but even still, I don't mind not being the first person to hatch one. I actually don't even expect to be the first person to hatch a shiny ditto. I simply want to because I want to. Of course, being the first would be pretty cool, I will not lie, and having it have a nice little ribbon in its page somewhere would be a nice little reminder. However, I would not want anything on my profile whatsoever.
I am looking to trade most things I have for Pokefarm Q stuff!

I had to sit here for a few minutes and make sure what you wrote is real because it makes little to no sense at all since you're adding contradictions and loopholes in your own suggestion and I'm genuinely shocked by that.

Quote from First posta Medal for users who have one of the first FIVE Shiny of any Pokemon On Site

As a person that has been on PokèHeroes during the first few months of 2013, I've seen new Pokèmons added by time and people getting crazy over it. If it's a normal Pokèmon, you need to lab hunt for hours on end and have to watch for that lab egg scanner and somehow if you're a really lazy person with slow internet like I was. As when Skiddo was released I had a minor hand injury so I can't do the event. That time, Skiddo wasn't breedable and it wasn't re-distributed for a good while but then Riako announced it's breedable and can be found in the labs and I can finally get a Skiddo. It takes awhile as the price shows kids about how the economy works and at that time I wasn't exactly rich so I still had to wait for quite some time. Users started shiny-huntingg them which is I'm totally cool with but if they get a medal for that to show around and it's limited to them only- I would feel just genuinely peeved because I always think that everyone is equal and if you're fast or more rich than others it doesn't give you the rights to have a limited achievement. Pretend that this was a feature back then, some of these users had premium so what if they hatched all 5 shinies Skiddo? They totally deserve that, don't get me wrong but limied merits is just really unequal.

Quote from Your previous postFIVE people get FIVE different medals

Funny story, I know that when this site wasn't known I hatched a shiny Audino and back then it was the second one since Audino isn't popular back then, no mega evos. I started pretty much hoarding Audinos and continue to shiny hunt Audinos because of the exp that I could get from it. If my memories serves me correctly, I hatched the forth and sixth shiny Audinos onsite. Do you see where I'm going? Like the previous paragraph, just because I was really early doesn't mean I'm so important that I get a limited medal to be shown to everyone.

Quote from Your previous postIf you took your Shiny Chain to a 1000+ in order to get that Shiny Mega, you DESERVE that medal, regardless of how much others will whine or cry about it. Within five years, all these medals will have been obtained, keeping new players from achieving them. Who cares?

That is not how you manage a website like PokèHeroes.
'Oh no! You're late to the party, don't worry, you can get a new different piece of merit that you probably don't want but who cares, you're new.' If I was in a site that doesn't care about their newer users like that, would I quit? No doubts. While that isn't what being implied, it's what I see after considering this option from many different point of view.

I'm all about 'You deserve it if you work for it' but only if it's fair and doesn't work on all first-come basis and if it can achieveable again by others who wants to work hard for it too. Like the Raylong event. It was made obtainable so you know, other people could actually get it. You may think I'm getting off-topic here but Raylong is a good example of how your suggestion would just ruin the equality of everything this website had shown. Raylong is a legendary Pokèmon, it's valuable, it's great and honestly who wouldn't want a legendary?

Quote from Your previous postIt not only accomplishes my wish of bragging rights, but, should the person ever want to get rid of it, now ANOTHER user, even a Newbie, can own it

This is the one that I had to pause at for a few minutes because I'm speechless.
Quote from Your previous postIf you took your Shiny Chain to a 1000+ in order to get that Shiny Mega, you DESERVE that medal, regardless of how much others will whine or cry about it.

So while they deserve the medal they can just give it away like it was nothing? I'm speechless, I really am. People can cry and whine but they have the chance to beg and bother the person about it. It's against the rules but it will happen, that's how things just work.

I usually don't care about newer users but this suggestion is just too unfair in my point of view.

I began with responding to your post. My bf asked me what I was doing, and informed me that he agreed with your opinions. He then offered his own suggestions.

I left my original response in the reply because I was trying to explain how I saw things. There are no contradictions because the last part was me giving a new suggestion based on the conversation my bf and I had. That was me realizing that there was a better way to doing this and offering a different solution. After all, that's how things get solved, right? People offer ideas, people change minds, more ideas get offered, etc. Until everyone or nearly everyone agrees.

I apologize if I make no sense. I've got a terrible way with words, and find it difficult to make myself understood or get my point across. Sometimes I ramble on, or repeat myself. I also apologize if my last comment sounded a bit rude and uncaring. I'm just long past the point of trying to be nice when people always seem to misunderstand me.

There are still contradictions on how you voiced things, especially with your boyfriend's addition. By adding 'suggested other means' I solely thought you meant another idea, I got confused with the wording, you can say.

This is not a problem, this is a suggestion, some suggestions simply can't be 'solved' or implemented. Even if try to make everyone 'happy' by 'solving things'. The rejected suggestions in the Rejected sub-forum has examples of what I'm talking about. For example, this rejected suggestion.

To get a point across you can't sugarcoat your opinion and sometimes it will come out as blunt or rude so I don't really mind since I do it, too. Including emotions in an opinion or point of view isn't a good for anyone because you might get biased and drive away from the point, focusing on non-logical things as emotions cloud logical thinking. You don't be too rude though, just all honest opinion without adding any kind of hostility. So it's totally understandable if you ask me.
