Luca wandered around the halls, mumbling to himself. He had
sloppily written the number seventy-one - his dorm room's number -
on his left hand with a sharpie while at the registration desk.
"Seventy-one...seventy-one...seventy-one..." he murmured to
himself. His brightly-colored teal eyes shifted back-and-forth,
scrutinizing the hallways for the special number.
"Seventy - ah! Here it is," he exclaimed when he saw the silver
numbers plastered above a door. He pulled out one of the keys as he
stopped infront of the door. The woman at the registration desk had
given him two keys - a regular key, as well as a spare key.
A pleasing click was heard as the door was unlocked. He
pushed it open, looking around eagerly. The room was rather dark.
The simplicity of its design was oddly satisfying to him, however.
He had requested thick curtains to keep the majority of the light
out, but he didn't expect it to be quite as dark as it was. His
teal eyes strained to see, but he somehow managed to locate a lamp
on the desk under the loft bed.
He flicked on the switch on the lamp, which cause the lamp to
release a moderately bright light that was tinted fuchsia due to
the lampshade. The dim light was pleasing to his sensitive eyes. He
launched his large black-and blue suitcase under the bed. On top of
that, he tossed his darkly-colored computer supplies suitcase,
which he promptly unpacked first.
Unpacking his computer supplies was a rather long and drawn-out
process - one he didn't particularly enjoy all that much. The whole
process was undeniably redundant; plug in a wire and check it. Plug
in a different wire, then check it, all without getting
electrocuted in the process. The process was a long one.
He heard his stomach rumble underneath him. He checked the time -
only 8:27. A loud sigh was exhaled from his mouth as he continued
his diligent process of unpacking.
"Sorry, didnt mean to startle you!" Nikephoros said, leaning
against the doorframe. "Just wanted t'introduce myself, I'm
Nikephoros Glaucia, and I'll be your neighbour for the forseeable
future"
Melanie decided to look for her dorm. "47.. 47!" She said, as she
spotted a big door, with the numbers "47" engrained into a gold
plate. She grabbed her key, before taking a peek inside. She then
floated inside, almost loosing her balance. She started to unpack.
Zander looked at a room with the number '71' plastered on it. He
opened the door quietly and walked in. He noticed Luca in the room.
"Hello." He set his bags on his bed.
(Sorry if you don't want a roommate, @Dolphino .-.)
Grey laughed lightly. "Yeah. Grey is good! Also son or whatever, I
don't care." He said. His accent made him sound a bit funny. He
smiled, and fixed his beanie.
(You're cool, fam, @Angel)
Luca jumped at the sudden greeting. He quickly pulled off his
headphones, placing them onto his shoulders instead. His eyes
strained to see definition in the figure, as the room was rather
dark. He was finally able to distinguish a young man, who he
assumed was in his mid-teens.
His eyes finally adjusted, however. He recognized glasses as well
as a hoodie, which made him smile. He's kinda cute, he
thought to himself, then shook his head. You don't even know
him, stop being gross.
"Hey," he greeted. "Didn't know I had a roommate," he chuckled.
"Otherwise I wouldn't have asked for such darkening curtains."
He looked around, nervously. Growing up as a single child with
parents who worked all the time, he was never that great in social
situations. He scratched the back of his head, still being able to
hear the rap playing in his headphones. He hesitantly turned it off
by clicking the microphone attached to the wire.
"So uh," he stammered. "I'm Luca - Luca Kirika." He adjusted his
glasses, quickly turning around and messing some more with the
wires for the computer in a sorry attempt to avoid the formation of
an awkward situation.
Zander sat on his bed. "The curtains are fine, i'm not much into
decoration anyways. Hi Luca, i'm Zander. Nice to meet ya'." He
pulled off his glasses, wiped them with a silk cloth, and put them
back on.
{My parents are making me go to bed D: good night!}
Luca thought about what he wanted to say to the boy. There was an
awkward silence during this time period - the kind of silence
Luca's vain attempts had tried to avoid. "So, I see you've been
inducted here. You must have some sort of power, right?" Luca asked
Zander. Of course he does, idiot. Why else would he be here?
Luca though to himself, which resulted in yet another sigh. He then
began awkwardly talking before Zander could reply.
"I don't really know what kind of name my power would have,
honestly. I guess that's okay, though. I can control any of my
loose blood as long as it's within a three-feet range. So like," he
stopped speaking as he flicked up what appeared to be a small
needle hidden within the silver ring on his right hand with his
thumb. He scraped the side of his middle finger against it,
resulting in a small, yet seemingly deep scratch on it. As the
blood began dropping down his finger, he formed it into a small
sphere.
"I guess it's honestly just blood manipulation, really." He
shrugged. "It's pretty useful if I ever get in an argument with
somebody and I can just make a weapon out of it or something," he
chuckled. "Unfortunately, I can't restore lost blood back into my
body, so I have to be careful about not using too much at once." He
released his hold of the small blood sphere, which caused the blood
to fall to the ground, forming a small red stain. "I've done that
before and it was not pretty."
He fixated the needle back into the ring and quietly laughed. He
then realized he was talking out of sheer nervousness, which caused
him furrowed his brow. "So, anyway, back to you. Your power
is...?"
"Spooky shadow manipulation" Nikephoros said, grinning. "Abscense
of light and all that, pretty tough stuff. Cant really get it to
work on command, just been a lot of accidents so far." They bit
their lower lip for a second. "If the shadows in your room start
like, moving just bang on the wall, I'm probably asleep."
Zander stared at the blood then looked up again. "Ah, my
power." He turned around and opened a cage. A parrot flew out
of it. "Sit here, Yuno, you know not to fly indoors." The
parrot obeyed and sat next to Zander. "I have the ability to talk and transform into animals. I won't
transform right now because it's a little tiring." He lay down
on his bed.
Grey smiled. "I'm ok with that. Shadows are cool." He smiled,
letting out a soft giggle. His hand rested on his mouth. Aimee
shivered, missing her brother. She looked around.
"Oh... No. Wait, there's a Back to School party. I might not go,
though. I've never been very social at those." Grey said, removing
his hand and smiled.
