I think there should be a 'time out' limit between winning medals.
it honestly isn't fair to users with very few friends, or friends who don't help, even WITH hashtags and raffles when players who have been playing for years and have MANY medals do basically the same thing.
I know players who have tried their hardest to stay in the rally, and still fail due to lack of friends, lack of HELPFUL friends, and lack of materials, such as anything to raffle off or candies for the strongest.
i don't mean don't let them get any more medals after their first, but...
it's easier to explain with an example.

on one of my other games we have something similar to the medal rally, ours just end at the end of the week, the players who win the first, second, or third place medals can't participate again for a month, to give OTHER players a chance to win.

I honestly think it would benefit others.
I totally understand if you don't agree with my opinion, tho.

agree? disagree?
why or why not?

Sorry I disagree for following reasons:-

1. You can't blame older players to have friends as they have dedicated their time to this site and made friends.

2. The person who wins the first rally can win as they try hard to win the rally as they drain their precious items by rallying them to get medals.

3. There are coin flips and berries fed rally which don't require players to have or to be older so they can try those rallies.

I actually support this suggestion. Not because of the social aspect of it, but because of the whole giving other/newer players a chance thing. I always see the same people winning the rallies and I feel this would definitely give other users a chance as not everyone has as much (spare) time as they do to dedicate to the rally.

Just gonna point a few things out from DragonSumedh's post...

Quote from DragonSumedh1. You can't blame older players to have friends as they have dedicated their time to this site and made friends.
You also can't blame newer players with less friends to want to participate in the Medal Rally but be beat out by players with hundreds or even thousands of users who have been added to other peoples' friendlist. :P

Quote from DragonSumedh3. There are coin flips and berries fed rally which don't require players to have or to be older so they can try those rallies.
The Most Berries Fed requires players to have a lot of berries in their possession which can be very expensive. Older players have had a lot more time to collect berries and even most of the times have more Pokedollars to spend on Berries in the shop.

On top of that, they have to have the time to sit here and click/interact (which, speaking from experience, can get extremely tiring as boring) whereas the Most Eggs Hatched and Strongest Pokemon doesn't require as much. Yes, you probably need to do some interacting for exchanges, but you could always start hashtag raffles to get interactions and use Rare Candies for the Strongest Pokemon.

I enjoy the idea of letting others have a chance at the medal rallies that others have more time/resources to gather or use them on their pokemon to make them stronger. I feel as if the only ones who wouldn't want this implemented are those that would have the most medals? I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's just my honest opinion of the vote score as of right now. It's like RL. The people who vote against fairness have so much and don't want to lose their moment in the spotlight, so they vote dead-set against.

Again, just my honest opinion, probably generic as all heck too! I dunno.

I agree because I'm sick of seeing players just create raffles to win, it's the same people over and over.

I only agree with the time out for the first two, the berry and coinflip should not have a time out. I've spent about 2 million on berries this rally. /sigh

i agree. it's almost ALWAYS the same people, and lets face it one month isn't long, it's a whole rally, you can afford to miss one rally if you have 20+ medals.
if they're able to do that, Crysantha, then yes, that would be awesome, seeing as with the berries and coinflip you can't make a hashtag or a raffle to do.
to me, tho, the strongest and most hatched eggs are like a popularity contest and it's really sad that other players don't get the chance to participate.
and if they do they're crushed by a player of 2 years, who has over twenty medals, and who is also in the most hatched.

I'm sorry, but this just reeks of salt if I'm very honest?

The Medal Rally is a competition where people compete to win the top 3 places. It is based on the principle of meritocracy, meaning the best players win. It isn't fair to the winners if we ban them from the next rally just because they won. Imagine doing that to sports competitions in real life? We don't ban Serena Williams from taking part in the next US Open just because she won the last one, and "other tennis players should get the chance to win".

I agree that the same people winning, with their large amount of resources and extensive social networks, will prevent new players from having a chance to win in the short run. But still, this thing is based on who's the best at what they do, be it hatching eggs or earning exp, and should be kept that way. In fact, new players have the incentive to gather resources and make friends on this site in order to be able to compete in future. In other words, the Medal Rally encourages new players to grow and be more active on this site rather than expect concessions just cuz they're newbies.

It's a suggestion, I don't think it's really about salt......

No, when I said "salt" I mean that I'm getting the impression that people are suggesting this because they're just upset that the same people win the rallies while others can't. Apologies for the confusion.

Yes, I'm aware of what salt means. lol

They're only making the suggestion cause it is considerably harder for people who are new/not as popular, while a full on ban from the rally isn't exactly fair. That's why they suggested a cooldown.

To reword my post from earlier, I just think raffles shouldn't be allowed. However, that would honestly never be the case because it just shows who will go to extra miles.

@Chrysantha - The makers of raffles spend their hard earned pd and pokemons in return of getting interactions and stuff

Also I agree with DavidS that everyone is allowed to participate.

First I used to win rallies but now I can't but I don't blame anyone for it

Yes I know they do. That's why I said it wouldn't be banned because it shows people will go to the extra mile to win.

you do know what i mean by 'cool down' period, right?
it's not an out right ban against a player from being able to participate in the rallies.
it's exactly what i said. a cool down period. a period where they can't do that exact rally again, they can participate in other rallies, and after the cool down period, participate again in that exact rally.
and just because everyone is allowed to participate doesn't mean they CAN or even WANT to. seeing the same exact people win over and over again with very little variation between the users make newer players, and even some 'older' players (6 months or more) NOT want to even TRY because, what's the point when really it's being made into a popularity contest?
this isn't high school
also, its a VERY far stretch trying to compare the OLYMPICS to a computer game.

@DragonSumedh
At most you'll get a warning after you've been told about it numerous times and yet still bump your thread before 2 days. Try not to exaggerate being banned since such punishment is, like the suggestion is implying, for special cases.

I'm neutral here. I've only joined the berry-feeding medal rallies and berry-hoarding really just depends on your money. If you're like me, you'll buy 36 PD (- 11%, 35.6 each berries) berries lots and lots. Even with that, 500 Berries cost 17,800 PD and with the average ratio of getting atleast a bronze medal would be 20,000 Berries Fed that would've costed a total of 712,000 PD, assuming all the berries are bought at 36 PD each. Chrysantha at this point, assuming she bought all of her 100,000+ berries for 36 PD (35.6) each, has spent 3,560,000 PD (or more). I've seen newbies getting a lot of money by selling nuggets or simply getting lucky, so like some others in this thread, having a countdown for Most Berries Fed simply make no sense because the user still have to feed the Pokèmons with berries, it depends completely on the user's ability to get money, hoard berries and feed all the Pokèmons. Let me just stop you there and say that if you're not a chronic clicker, your hand will ache. Even then I haven't found an user that just keep going in the Most Berries Fed medal rally more than twice (Not gold medal for both attempts atleast).

Same goes for the coin flip rally. Chronic clicker.

As for Most Eggs Hatched and Strongest Pokèmon. I see your point, I really do, but I don't really feel like supporting it. I usually don't really care for those kind of things but if users want to do a raffle to increase their chances, honestly just let them. I'll click them maybe once or twice but I don't really care much. I don't think having a cooldown would exactly prevent anyone from doing it either, I'm pretty sure there would always (maybe not always) be someone who's doing a raffle in exchange for clicks and since thats your main point here, that's the reason why I don't feel like supporting your suggestion.

Two rounds of medal rally counts as a month I suppose, enough to gain resourses to start another raffle.

It's midnight here and I only get 4 hour sleep a day so if there's anything you don't understand I'll re-phrase it if needed.
