Victor heard Duchess from the Pokemon centre. "Yes, I recently picked him as my starter. His name is Volt." He said. Volt sprang up at hearing his name and waved at duchess.

A pretty discheveled professor walked out to the group of people. He looked at them, then tipped his glasses up. "Hey, you're Professor Palm's students, aren't you? Mind coming to my lab for a second?"

Duo looked back at the professor with a blank face. Budew was awake by then, and she had the same reaction. "Sure, I'll go."

The Professor now had a smile on his face. "Thanks! I'll be sure to reward you once you're done."

"Uhm... I'd like to drop of Shinx with Nurse Joy first and catch up with you guys?" Cass asked. She had been pretty quiet so far after coming into the big city. She hadn't expected so many people and such tall buildings- and it was all indoor! As they walked she was bumped into a bit by people crowding around and trying to get past them and toward the elevator or just rushing around the city.

Duchess was talking to another boy, "You're Victor, right?" She asked, having seen him around their town before. Her uncle always kept her so busy, she barely had time to learn any other kids names, unless they were right around her house. His pikachu waved to Duchess and her pokes that were in her bag.

"Can I help anyone?" Nurse Joy had walked up to them, the bright smile on her face as always. "Yes, I came across this shinx who got hurt by some thorns. I did what I could, but..."

"I can fix him up for you- is he yours?" She asked taking shinx out of her arms and into her own. "And the others?" She asked everyone. An Audion came around with a stretcher to lay any pokemon or pokeballs on.

"Oh! Yes." Cass handed over the pokeball for shinx, she looked to Osha, but he was still pretty perky and since he hadn't been training or battling much he seemed fine.

"Ok, I'll do what I can. You can come get your pokemon in about an hour."

Victor nodded, and looked at Volt, who had gone to fight back a golem, who was bullying a baby pichu in a park. The golem's trainer was busy chatting with someone nearby. Volt used thunderbolt, but found the move to be of no use. Volt thought for some time, and charged himself up in electricity, preparing his signature move, volt tackle. He the smashed himself to some rocks nearby, and sent electrified rocks towards Golem, who got hit, and immediately left the pichu.

The Professor finally got to his lab. It looked prett run-down! The lights didn't work, so his front wall was made of glass, and there were boxes everywhere. "It's nice to meet you all. I'm Professor Chandler, Palm's friend. He wanted me to open a smaller lab that studies the rare mushroom virus...have you heard of it?"

Volt greeted the Pichu quickly, and Victor, just in time, ran to the lab, he just managed to hear the word 'virus'.
"What Virus?" He asked, unable to hear the ful word.

"You haven't seen any?" The Professor looked confused.

"I did. They were people with mushrooms on their heads, right?" Ask responded.

"Oh, so you have. They're exactly that- people with large mushroom parasites in and on them. As far as I know, they have very wrinkled, pale, hard skin, giant white mushrooms on their heads, and almost everyone infected has a strange, predictable movement pattern and only owns a Mushroom-based Pokemon..."

"Can I get you guys to do three things for me?" Professor Chandler tipped up his glasses. "I'll be sure to reward you for your effort."

"Okay, come in here..." The professor let everyone into a room behind the lab's main area.

It was completely dark in the room until he stepped in, when the floor lit up. It was all blue, except there were black, lightless lines making the shape of a Pokemon battlefield.

"Can one of you battle me? I need to test to see if something works." Professor Chandler grabbed one Poke Ball from his bag.

"Okay. Good luck!" Professor Chandler sent out a Rotom. "Attack whenever."

Ask scanned it with his Pokedex, and it said it was Level Thirty, but then it glitched and crashed. "Uh, that's odd..."

The Rotom took a decent amount of damage! "Rotom, use Discharge!" The Rotom sent a ring of electricity across the battlefield, hitting Fennekin.

Volt looked at rotom, even he wished to showcase his battling skills.
Victor, in a corner, tried to help Volt to learn iron tail. Volt could use the move, but hadn't mastered it, so he practiced a bit, and sliced a few fruits here and there.

(I haven't explained this, but I'd rather you follow the Level-up learnset as shown on Serebii.net's Gen 6 ORAS section, unless it doesn't have an ORAS section, in which case Gen 6 is just fine.)

Rotom was hit by an Ember, then it fainted. "Good job! But, the reason why we battled is so I could see if my machine worked, and it did!"

"For just that battle, both of our Pokemon were level 50. I was wondering if it was working so I could open a battle spot for everyone here!"

"But, for my next task- could you go face the gym in this town and tell me what you saw?" Professor Chandler turned pale for some reason.

"I'll do it, how about you guys?" Ask's Budew got excited.
