No support.
Yes i'm a bit homophobic, but depends on how the other is,if they are bi and they wanna show it off,i'm simply OUTRAGED,if they are bi and they don't show it off doesn't matter me,their problem.
THERE ARE KIDS TOO IN THIS SITE!
It would be a HORRIBLE example to them if this gets implemented,n'd i'd be mad if this get implemented.

May I point out that gender and sexuality are two completely different things?

I'm neutral on this one
This is more of a practical reason i'm leaning more against the genderless-icon inclusion; I like to ask the question how the "gendered dialogue" in the game would be replaced. (e.g at the GTS, the shop, the café, etc.)
Is the gendered term just left out or are there gender neutral terms I'm not aware of?

Hiding the gender gets full support from me to people that feel uncomfortable wearing it on their sleeve, though.

Mind if I add? Leicester mentioned it, so.

This was discussed on a friend's feed. Instead of having gender-neutral pronouns for the game NPCs (I think that was the problem of why a third gender can't be coded in?) you can choose whether to choose male or female pronouns for the npcs in the settings. So in conclusion, two different settings: Gender Symbols (Male, Female and Genderless) and Pronouns (Masculine and Feminine). You don't need the Genderless option to be selected to have the pronouns settings, so you can have a female symbol and have male pronouns for whatever reason.

For the beach, the character that represents the user could be based on the chosen pronouns or if the artist don't mind, an andronygous representation for the genderless symbol. Ultimately, it's up to Riako.

Like what Thesweetestsin said in their last post, gender and orientation are two different things. I thought you might be talking about Bigender which is identifying as two genders at the same time but by no way is that a horrible example to anyone and does not even relate to homophobia. You're simply calling out yourself by announcing you're homophobic.

I get that users are using the point of 'You are either born male or female' for your reason of not supporting the suggestion but you're ignorantly calling out transgenders by limiting their gender to their sexual identity even if by no means are you trying to offend them. If we were to just limit only two genders we might be protecting users from harassment of bigoted people but do we want those users that cannot respect others in the first place? If we don't have a neutral option for a gender just because users start to cause controversy to those with gender identity out of society's norm then when will anyone ever accept nonbinary people? The internet is a safe place to some and while this might cause controversy, limiting users to two genders are quite dishearteaning. Users can always report those who harrases them for having the genderless icon and get rid of these hurtful users that does not respect or care for others. (Or atleast give them a warning.)

I'd really like a gender neutral option, as I indentify using they/them, but can't put a neutral option.

I don't think we need like 6 genders, but just a neutral or genderless option would be nice.
I use they/them pronouns!

@Mega_Charmander

I respect your opinion, but it's true that gender and sexuality are two different things. And how would it be a bad example to children? I believe (and this is just my opinion, hate on it all yah want, I don't care), that the fact that people are comfortable with saying they're trans, or bi, or anything along those lines is amazing.
If anything, I feel that this would inspire children to be even a bit braver with things, not even gender wise.

And I think that having an option to hide your gender would be nice. And an other, as some people are born without a specified gender. yes, it's possible.

I have support

I think it is a great idea, if you don't identify as a specific gender, or you just don't want to reveal your gender!

Maybe somebody can just add the option to do the little "no gender" symbol that is found on genderless Pokemon? I dunno, but I think it is a good idea.

Support! There should least be a "neither" icon, since there is such a thing as being born as "intersex", a sex that has characteristics of both male and female, or neither, although most people seem to overlook this. It is indeed possible to be born as neither male or female, so according to science, there are at least three biological genders, not two.

This has been suggested at least 2 times before. But support. This would defiantly make many users happy and would be a great addition to this site!

Full support! Would not only encourage diversity, but will create a sense of a closer community if everyone can be open and comfortable about themselves. As for "bullying/trolling", if people were following the site rules, that wouldn't be a problem. Any abuse should be reported, and mods will usually deal with the problem in a timely manor.
