So, this is a small thing that I would like implemented in the future.

I would love to see an icon or some sort of indicator on the actual user profile next to somebodies name to show if the user is online or offline. It would be a lot easier than having to open PalPad and type their name in too see if they are online. (Yes I am that lazy)

I also wouldn't mind having an "Invisible mode" for when I dont want people to know I am online.

No support
Why not just check their last action? It's a lot more accurate than the online indicators anyways.

@ Pancake

Last activity has nothing to do with if the other user is online or not. Somebody could view a profile then hop straight offline. Then, it could say that they were last viewing a profile seconds ago, but is not actually online.

In that case, the user is still shown online. The green dot remains beside the username in the palpad.

I support the hide-your-online-status, as I go on randomly during the day to get eggs, edit posts, etc. and my friends always get annoyed at me for not replying. x'D

But Idk, the online indicator is always a thing on PP, even though you explained that already. And you can scroll down to check their last action.

I supported for the latter suggestion, though. x3♥

@Godfred

I understand you can check PalPad, but this is something very simple that can improve the site.
The point would be so you dont need to check PalPad.

First of all, I do not believe that is entirely accurate. Second of all, I often PalPad people when the Online indicator says "Online", but they just didn't close the tab and abandoned their computer. I can tell because their last action will be, like, 15 minutes ago or something. I myself rarely close my Pokeheroes tab. I see no reason to add something that is less accurate than the current not-always-perfect-at-telling-you-what-you-need system.

Also, Godfred was saying that in the scenario you presented me, that it wouldn't even change to say offline. The online/ offline indicators in the PalPad are vastly inaccurate.

@Pancake

So you are telling me that when you logout it will show you still online?
Both of you must have misread my post.

Oh, you were talking about logging out? I thought you were talking about closing the tab.While it may work in some scenarios, I still know that because most people [that I know anyway] never log out, just close the tab, it wouldn't help me at all.

My point is that the PalPad indicator is inaccurate, and putting it on the profile wouldn't add any value.

So, once again, no support

I believe the idea, in and of itself is nice. But, it may not work for everyone, only depending on the person. So, maybe if it were made a thing, it would be a switchable feature, like some people have it and others don't.

I definitely would like to be able to hide while online. Sometimes I just want to be left alone and undisturbed but that wretched green dot always ruins that for me. It may as well be a big neon sign pinned to my back saying "I'm online, let's chat!"

Even though I almost never want to chat.

thats something id agree on 100% it gets hard to find help on here with stuff if u dont understand stuff when u dono if anyones on to ask for help on ur friends list

(i hope i made sence with this)

also a invisable selection would work to y not add in a Away an Busy selection to kinda like when u click or hover over the arrow pointing down ->(v) to bring down the listing status like shown

Online
Away
Busy
Invisable
Offline

Duplicate suggestion [for the 'hide' part] - original one here
[We can also hide our recent activity-thingy, which is the "hide" on profile implemented]
