So at the moment I don't believe this is a possible thing... And my thoughs are why not?

We can capture Retro Tentacools. And we can capture normal Magikarps so why not retro ones?

At the moment the player can only obtain ONE in their entire pokeheroes jounery and that's from profressor Rowan... (I won't spoiler how)

Not only that but as a Shiny hunter myself I want to be able to hunt every shiny in game. So with the Retro shiny being so rare no one really sells the retro magikarp. So how would I be able to obtain it? I claimed my retro Magikarp BEFORE Retros could be shiny!

I have check the wiki to see if retro magikarps could be caught at the beach but that doesn't seem to say anything nor does anyone in any forums.

Of course the catch rate would be Medium - Fast Speed. Possible 17 Seconds or less much like the Retro Tentalcool for the capture time. With the chance to be shiny of course as well!.
Edit: -Oddy - Perhaps the rate of capture % could be that of the same or rarer of capturing shinies. I know I haven't yet caught any shinies from the beach and I have spent over 1 Mil on Shiny bait so far.

Another possible idea. The possiblility of the retro Magikarp at the beach being 100% Shiny (Being only avaliable to be reeled using the Shiny Rod) BUT That would be the hardest thing to capture? That way it would save the one from Profressor Rowan becoming invalid to the degree that they will still be the hardest pokemon to capture at the beach so there won't be a huge sudden influx and us Shiny Hunters get the one we can hunt.

Flohpulver - This user has possible suggested that in order to start capturing the Retro Megikarp (What ever the chance may be or what ever happens) That you must have completed this quest in order to start capturing them from the beach.

Current Requirments;
Finish the Prof Rowan Quest in which you obtain your first Retro Egg.
(Maybe) Have the Shiny Rod
(Maybe) Use the fishermants hat? Or another item Perhaps a Retro Rod to increase the chance of a Retro capture (Obtained though mystery Boxes or perhaps from leah) But this opens the option to capture the Retro magikarp

So what do you all think?

Yes, seems like a cool idea. Afterall, there are many shiny-hunters that want to obtain every single shiny in-game, and like this (curently only one can be obtained), it isn't possible.

Sure, it makes a lot of sense. I understand Retro Squirtle because it's from premium, and Retro Totodile because it's easy to get, but there's no reason why Retro Magikarp can't be found elsewhere.

Thanks!

In my opinion, Retro Magikarps are meant to be harder to be earned by other Retros, so making them the same rare in the Beach as Retro Tentacool is right now, would pretty much make Rowan's Challenge pointless to exist.

I agree that it is unfair for players who got their Retro Magikarp before Retros could hatch/be caught Shinies, I myself am one, but making them a whole lot easier to get wouldn't make sense. Then, everybody who used money to beat Rowan's Karp Challenge would feel that it was unfair for them, like you feel now.

Imagine if someone has spent a ton of Rare Candies they were collecting to beat this challenge and then see that they can easily get one from the beach. I don't know about others, but I would definetely scream.

That still is and will be my opinion and everyone is granted to their own opinion, so thanks for for your time. So, no support from me.

But, if they were as rare (or even rarer) as Shinies, then I would definetely support, because I am also collecting Shiny Retros myself.

Well I have only ever caught 2 Retro Tentecools since the start of the beach. I ahave also purchised every meal everyday and still I have had not luck at the beach.

But the point still stands they could have the same rate as Shinies I just put the basics down so that it can be improved! Which I shall edit now!

After all it's up the Riako to put in the statisics for the capture of the pokemon in the end.

Its a good idea but I agree with -Oddy, its already free via a Rowan quest. Everyone has an equal chance to earn one. I just think that this may not be the best solution. It would be awesome to get a shiny one though. I dont know I am 50-50 on this let me give it some thought.

P.S. you have a couple typos you may want to fix.

I also thought about suggestion this so that all user had the chance of getting the shiny or another one which both isn't possible yet. Especially getting the shiny was impossible at the time I got mine.
One thing that could be made without making the Prof quest useless would be similar to the resolute stone. Thus it maybe could be that you also can catch it at the beach after beating this special quest.
But I also have to say that I would make it rarer than the retro tentacruel, at least I caught a couple (~5-7) of them yet.

A quote from the shiny retro announcement
QuoteCurrently you can only get one Retro Magikarp as a gift from Prof. Rowan for helping him in a quest. However, we will find a way to make it obtainable in more way.

So I think the beach would be perfect to make it obtainable again.

You know that's that's a wonderful requirment! To make sure that you have done the quest in order to start capturing the Retro magikarps from the beach!

Well, if you can only get it after beating Rowan's quest, then yes, I support too :>

I don't see why we have to make it rarer than Retro Tentacool. People already struggle a lot with getting shiny Retro Tentacool so to increase that struggle even more with Retro Magikarp isn't necessary.

Just an idea, but what if you needed the Fisherman Hat to catch Retro Magikarp? So basically, my idea is:

- Complete the thing from Rowan and obtain Retro Magikarp from him.
- Obtain Fisherman Hat
- Retro Magikarp then becomes available at Emera Beach at the same rarity of Retro Tentacool.

I'm fine with it being without the Fisherman Hat, but I just thought it'd be nice for the hat to have more of a purpose than of just fishing during stormy weather.

That's quite possible. I just thought that perhaps that the fishermen's hat increases the rate slightly? I for one is having trouble collecting the fisherman's hat.

But I will put it up above and see what others thinks. Most seem to agree with the current set of rules. So I'm not too sure about adding anymore or this one but I will put it to the public and gauge their reactions.

I for one don't see the need for the fisherman's hat as it already has its main purpose

Adding onto what KrazyKarp said, but the Fisherman hat already has another purpose. Maybe another item? This suggestion has a few loopholes so far. Why not just make a item for it to be obtainable in another way? Or perhaps Rowan would give you something you gave to Leah occasionally if you did small tasks like getting him shells and salt and that.

I'm not quiet sure what asking impure-angel please bare with me I do have dyslexia in reading and writing. Are you asking as to why not have items to give to him (from the beach) in exchange for the retro magikarp?

And for the entire site has been active there us currently no other way to obtain retro magikarp. This idea gives the best way for shiny hunters to give them a challange to keep at it and work hard for the shiny. It also give the shiny worth and a fair way to obtain it. If it's from the beach makes the most amount of logic too. It's a fish after all. Why exchange it for items when you can fish it from the sea?

I believe this would be a workable suggestion cuz there's currently no other way to obtain another retro Karp. This could be the opportunity to get a shiny one.

tbh my first thought when the beach was announced was it being the new way to get multiple retro magikarp ahah, rowan quest is necessary for eggdex but as Floh said, a large amount of people who got their retro karps by the quest were obtained before shiny retros were even a thing, so it seems logical that retro magikarp would be available there. and ive had like, at least 15-20 retro tentacool since the beaches release.

It's not up to a Mod to decide whether a (new) suggestion is bad, barring exceptions of course ^^'
On most occasions, we simply move/lock a thread, depending on the response from the user base and I honestly see no reason to reject this.

I'm not the most interested in it (which is why I didn't post as 'interested user'), but that doesn't mean I have the right to decide, above all other users, that this should be rejected, just because :p

Unless it's a duplicate or a game breaking suggestion, any feedback from Mods is their own; it doesn't hold more weight than any other (decent) support/no support post :)

Ahhh it's just I feel like having some in put from someone who is highly respected sort of gives me an indication you see?

Like I know it's not needed but it helps to hear from people of all areas like from a wiki admin they somewhat? I think (I can't remember ) agrees with the idea which gave me some feedback too which was highly useful.

Players have also expressed their concerns, flaws and successes which helped majorly to this idea.

But I can see your side and respect that too!

It basically all in need of constructive criticism and wanted to see if this idea could be improved by any degree from people of all areas of the site <3.

And to be honest it does to a degree because (at least for me) I see mods as some of most respected people on site and some of the wisest when it comes to choices so I always read their views, suggestions and comments first and they see the other replies before making my own. C :
