I've tried getting into digital art lately, but the program that came with my drawing pad (ArtRage Lite) isn't too great. No way to copy paste stuff, forced to have a paper like background. What programs do you artists use?

Paint Tool SAI is easy to use and the brushes in SAI have blending features, unlike photoshop
if you do enough research/googling, you might find a link to a permanently free version of it if you're lucky.

Good luck!

I use a variety.
- Photoshop (CS5)
- Paint Tool. SAI
- Illustrator
- Manga Studio
- SketchBook Pro

Out of those, I mainly use SketchBook & SAI
From what I know, you need to buy them all, although the only one I didn't buy was Photoshop, as it was gifted to me by a friend, and Manga Studio came free for me when I bought my drawing tablet
But really good art programs are never free :b
Cheapest is SAI I think?? So if you're just starting out with digital art, I think you should buy that one as it's the easiest to use ^^

I can't afford nice things Dx I use Pokemon Art Academy and free picture editors like Pixlr.com and piskelapp to edit them and make them transparent. It's worked pretty well for me so far.

I personally like MediBang Paint! It is 100% free, and easy enough to use, as well as it had a really wide variety of features [like SAI I would imagine...?] and it is available for mobile :>

I use FireAlpaca too. It's really helpful at making things transparent and has a variety of brushes to choose from.
