Each Summoner has a maximum Magic Rank. The higher magic rank, the more demons the Summoner can own. If a summoner has a Magic Rank of 12, they can own Demons who's ranks are combined lower than or equal to 12. In Ether, Demons are captured by sending in Summoner's to attract them and bring them into the human world, they then are tamed.

Mite - Rank 1
Mite's are the most common and basic of all demons from Ether and is at the bottom of the food chain. These insect's are the first demons given to new Summoner's. However there are many types of smaller and larger mites, Scarab Mites are the strong and largest of the Mite Demon Species. Mite's are often used as scouts as they are tiny and can vary in color from dull and dark to bright and colorful.

Lutra - Rank 3
This dog-sized demon appears very similar to an overgrown otter, with a spiked tail and two large, sharp teeth. They are often found in the lakes and rivers of the Ether, as they are especially fond of swimming.

Shrike - Rank 4
These bird-like demons migrate annually across Ether, making entry extremely dangerous for one week of the year. Well known for their long black feathers, their wingspan is as wide as a man is tall, with each wing’s endmost feathers tipped with bleached white. A Shrike’s beak is hooked , with a bright red wattle underneath its neck and a red ridge along the top of its head like that of a rooster.

Salamander - Rank 5
Salamanders are extremely rare in Ether. Not much is known about their habitat or history, though there is evidence that Orcs have captured them in the past. Their Skin is the color of dark burgundy, with eyes that are large, amber and round like those of an owl. Salamanders have no teeth to speak of, but their snout ends sharply, almost like a river turtle’s beak.

Shrike Matriarch – Rank 6
The Shrike Matriarch is the leader of a Shrike flock. Almost twice as large as the average shrike, these demons are not to be underestimated.

Barkling - Rank 6
This badger-shaped demon has tough skin almost indistinguishable from bark, which it uses to camouflage itself in the jungles of the ether. Although relatively common, their tendency to hide at the top of tree trunks, and the ridge of poisonous spines they can shoot from their backs make them difficult to capture. They have ridged mouths.

Vulpid - Rank 6
A close cousin to the Canid, this slightly smaller, fox-like demon has three tails and is known for its agility and speed.

Canid - Rank 7
A dog-like demon with four eyes, lethal claws, a fox-like tail and a thick ridge of fur down its spine. These demons range in size from that of a large dog to a small pony.

Felid - Rank 7
A cat demon that has four eyes and has the intelligence of a jungle chimpanzee. Their breeds vary from leonine, tigrine and leopine, bearing resemblances to lions, tigers and leopards respectively.

Anubid - Rank 8
Another distant cousin to the Canid, this rare demon stands on two legs and has the head of a jackal. Unusually for demons related to the common Canid, this demon has two eyes.

Golem - Rank 8
This rare, elemental-class demon can be made from many different types of minerals, including clay, mud and sand, the most powerful of which is the stone, golem. Golem's start out small at roughtly 4 feet and can grow to over 12 feet tall. Golem's are incredibly hard to capture when fully matured, they are commonly captured young.

Hydra - Rank 9
A Hydra is a large demon with three snakelike heads on long, flexible necks and has a body at around the same size of a large Canid. These demons were once more common in Ether, but are now extremely rare.

Griffin - Rank 10
This rare demon will occasionally appear in Ether. Horse-sized, it has the body, tail and back legs of a lion and the head, wings and talons of an eagle.

Minotaur - Rank 11
These humanoid demons are tall, hairy and muscular. They have the head of a bull and hooves for feet. Unlike the Golem, they have clawed hands, which are capable of manipulating weapons, though teaching one to use them is a difficult task. It is very rare to see one of these in Ether.

History: Draco was the adopted son on a Blacksmith in a small village. Draco was one day attacked by a group of elders and Draco fought back. However, a noble suddenly saved him. The next day, Draco was accused of the murder of 3 Elder's in his village. Draco, along with some gifts his adopted father gave him, left the village and enrolled into the academy, albeit barely.
