Nami had seen the fight go down. She was mortified by the thought of others hurting each other. She watched as the strange human woman called for help from within the ice trap. Nami wondered if she should help her or not and decided she would risk it.

"Miss? Can I help you at all?" Nami asked cautiously. "I'll help you if you promise not to hurt me."

Desire couldn't see who was there, but was still as skeptical as always. "How can you help? It may hurt you. I can't afford to hurt civilians while doing my job." She stated.

The dogs (Timber, a female of secret breed, and Lainy, a female Jack Russel Terrier) ran into the living room, hearing the crying. Timber stood in the entryway, growling at Kasai, and Lainy looked up at Popilo. She hopped up onto her lap, licking her hands lovingly. Lainy was always the sweet one, and Timber was the odd and protective one.

Nami got closer to the woman. "I am known as Nami. I am an alien with the ability to fly," Nami was doing her best to appear friendly to this woman since she clearly had something against aliens. "I could pull you up from above if you promise to not hurt me." Nami was unsure of this plan but she had to try.

"Oh." Was all Briar said before speaking again, much quieter this time. "Are you... A half-breed?" He asked her hesitantly. He was almost afraid that she was only here to spy, but pushed that to the back of his brain. "You were there, right?" He tried to hurry the conversation, realizing his wound was bleeding through his shirt.

Timber barked, stopping her growling as she looked at Briar, then back at Kasai. She figured he was trusting of her, so she sat down in the middle of the living room.

Desire heard the word "alien" and almost laughed. she had a perfect plan. "Thank you, Nami, that'd be ... kind of you." She said, her face more or less happy. "Let me make sure I have my gu- things, my things." She corrected herself just in time as she gathered her small tranquilizer.

"You have weapons," Nami said. "I refuse to help you unless you leave them there." Nami could see the tranquilizer poking out of her bag. "I will not harm you so you have no reason to harm me. I am trying to offer you a friendly gesture and you plan to repay me by causing me harm. I hope this isnt the only thing I can expect from your kind." Nami grew angry. She knew that there were humans like this but she hoped they weren't all bad. "Do you want my help or not?"

"Are you... A half-breed?" He asked, with a slight hint of worry. "Y-yeah. I-i can prove it, i-if you're still not sure." She noticed the slight tint of red on his shirt as she looked around. "C-can we go inside first?"

Cars with the same logo Desire had pulled up to the park, and stern chattering was heard from the people inside of them once they saw Nami. Desire was speechless at Nami. She didn't think she'd help her. She said something she hoped she wouldn't regret. "Help yourself and go away from here." She mumbled, so her comrades could not hear her. "Don't tell them I let you go." The officers watched Nami, loading their weapons as fast as they could and preparing nets.

Briar nodded slowly and let her inside. He led her into the living room where the others were. 'I'm stupid for leading them here... they'll find us.' He thought, trying to push away the hopeful thoughts as he led Akio.

Nami sighed. "I was hoping I'd finally make a friendly encounter with a human but I suppose fate has other plans," Nami began to fly away. "Farewell human, I hope the next time we cross paths will be on better terms." Nami flew back to her home on the beach wondering how else that meeting could have gone.

The officers helped Desire out with crowbars and assorted tools. "How did this happen?" A paramedic asked. Desire sighed. "Halflings." Was all she said before being taken back to headquarters in one of the officer's cars. She stared out the window, pondering that alien.

Popilo felt something licking her hands, and smiled down at Lainy. She knew the dogs well, since she had quite the friendship with Briar. She began to pet the canine, smiling though her tears continued to fall. She giggled, and hiccuped lightly.

Lainy yapped, very happy that her friend was happy. She curled up in her lap, still nuzzling her hand. Timber shook her dark grey fur and blinked, sitting close to Popilo. She also liked her, since she was Briar's friend. Her green eyes looked up at Popilo with curiosity.

The sun began to rise over the water. Nami had been out all night without even completing her goal of getting out of town. "Maybe another day," she sighed. She reached her home along the beach shore. Nami lived in a cave on an abandoned part of the beach. She had completely redone the inside so that it was actually quite comfortable. She did not despise her home but she longed for something better. But there were no alien friendly apartments in this town so she put up with what she had. Nami glided over to her bed to make up for her lost sleep.

Popilo rubbed Lainy's head with her left hand, and pet Timber with her right. She smiled, she loved dogs so much. Resisting the urge to squeal, she continued petting them. All traces of her crying left, except for reddish eyes.

Popilo looked at Kasai and nodded. "Yeah... Much better..." She said quietly, her voice only an octave above a whisper. She continued to pet the pups, smiling faintly.

(Nightmare accepted~ @Arwen, we're looking for more humanoid types of aliens for better social interactions and to keep the plot going. Maybe try using slightly more sentient beings?)

Both dogs were loving the attention. Although, Timber was a tad more subtle about it than Lainy, who was practically howling with happiness. Her tail wagged so hard, she almost couldn't control her lower half. Timber stayed calm, like she always does.
