Briar awoke to the smell of smoke and growled, sniffing the air. He
looked to Kasai with a concerned expression before taking off his
shoe and hitting the fire on his leg with it. "What the f**k?
What's your deal?" He snarled as he put out the fire.
Desire came up to her partner as he lay on the ground, his insides
spilled over the ground. Desire didn't bat and eye as she dragged
his body aside into an alleyway. She shed a single tear as she
covered his mangled body with a garbage bag.
Nami was nearing the outskirts of town when she looked down and saw
several figures in a small park. She was growing tired from flying
for so long so she began to descend toward them so she could say
hello to them. Nami enjoyed meeting new people.
Briar grumbled to himself and shot ice through his his fingers and
onto his leg, putting the fire out. "It's fine, it's put out." He
sighed with a tad of annoyance in his voice. He took his ear buds
out and swung his legs from off of the bench so they rested on the
ground. He examined the burn left by the fire and touch it
gingerly, cringing a bit. He swore under his breath.
Desire reported to HQ over her special phone and began to walk
quickly to her motorcycle. She had no more tears, only that single
one. She didn't let anything hurt her. Not anymore. She hopped on
the motorcycle and sped around, searching for aliens.
Waking up, Akio saw a guy
sitting on a bench, tending to something that looked like a burn,
as well as another person standing nearby. Huh? Who are they? I
haven't seen them around. A shadow passed over her head, and
she looked up. It was the alien she had seen fly by a couple of
moments ago. She seemed to be coming down to where they were.
Sitting up, Akio dusted the bits of dirt and grass off of her
hair.
Popilo walked down the sidewalk with long, curt strides. Her
headphones were around her neck as a podcast lightly traveling to
her ears. She passed a boy and a girl, a guy on the bench. She
glanced at them before walking by. Sure, she was good friends with
Brair, but she didn't need to help him with this. She felt her nose
get prickly, and she glared at nothing. "Crap..." She said, and
sneezed, covering her face with her elbow. The noise was
high-pitched, and sounded like a small kitten. A blush spread
across her face when people glanced at her.
((Eyy, casual bump))
”Hello There! I am Alter Ego, your
technological guide!"
Briar sighed, brushing his hair from his face. "It's fine... now
scram before I actually get mad." He growled, cracking his neck. He
got up and looked around, looking for people he knew. He spotted
Popilo and contemplated going over to speak to her. 'She's probably
busy or not wanting to speak.' He thought to himself, walking down
the sidewalk and abandoning Kasai.
Desire kept her radar on and glanced at it occasionally. She was
one situation away from blowing up, and almost went home. "Finish
the shift, Dez." She mumbled to herself.
Popilo, noticing that Briar had left the girl, scampered up to him.
"H-hey Brair! Ho-how are you tod-today?" She asked with her normal
stammer, blushing as usually and smiling sheepishly. God, she was a
nerd.
”Hello There! I am Alter Ego, your
technological guide!"
Briar perked up, turning to face Popilo. "Oh hey, Poppy." He said
with a faint smile on his lips. He loved giving people nicknames or
pet names that might irritate them, no matter how close they were
to him. "I'm alright. How 'bout you?" He said, folding his arms.
"I'm pr-pretty good, thanks! So what a-are ya do-doing?" Popilo
said, her blush getting deeper at the pet name she received. Her
ponytail swayed behind her with every step she took, brushing her
thighs every so often on accident. A small, cute grin found it's
way to her mouth as she spoke to one of her only friends.
”Hello There! I am Alter Ego, your
technological guide!"
"Just wandering as I usually do." Briar explained, his hair blowing
around in the wind. He ruffled it, trying to fix it. He looked at
Popilo. "What are you doing around here, Poppy?" He asked out of
curiostiy, still fixing his hair.
"Well, I--" Popilo paused, thinking of what she wanted to cut out
of her story. "I was wa-walking around fo-for some exce-exercise."
She replied, nodding to herself 'Good job...' She told
herself, her voice oddly sarcastic.
”Hello There! I am Alter Ego, your
technological guide!"
Darren snorted, amused by Popilo's nervous stuttering. He never got
why she did it, but he thought it was kinda cute. "Well, I'm glad I
found ya out here, being alone gets boring after a while." He
cracked a rare smile at her. A true smile, not a sarcastic or
amused one. A happy smile. He looked at Kasai, his smile going
away. "What's up with you? Got a problem with my friend, buddy?" He
questioned with a bit of a snarl.
Popilo got as red as Spain's tomatoes. 'No! Don't tell him!'
She thought, eyes widening as she snatched up the bottom of her
hoodie, playing with it timidly.
”Hello There! I am Alter Ego, your
technological guide!"
Briar had no idea what the two girls were referring to, so he
stayed silent. He looked very irritated now, and grunted. He
squinted at Kasai. "I'm not sure I know what you mean. And you're
testing my short patience. First the fire, now your riddles."
