I was going through the userlist and tending to people's Pokemon. I noticed that a lot of the accounts were inactive, and I wanted to only help active users (inactive being, gone for more than a month or two). I thought that being able to select a time frame of activity for the users might help more people who actually play, with a succinct list.

Support! This is a nice way to find any specific user too (Some of them have similar usernames), and it would also clear up User Search a bit...

For tending to the pokemon of people who are online, you don't need the userlist :)
You can always use the Online Clicklist in the Clicklist section of the Union Room. So unless there's another use , theres no need of this feature.

Okay, here's an improved version: Advance Search. Options to view users active within a certain timeframe (not just today, but also this week / month); option to search by username. Can be more handy than using a list when looking for one person in particular.
Is there any option to view player lists by country? If not, that may be a nice addition as well.

Many questions:
1. What is the use of the timeframe. Note that all suggestions need to have reasons.
2. There's already an option in the Userlist to search by the username.
3. There's no reason for listing players by country. The can make a country clan in the forums, and list all players of that country.
