CARTRIDGE (A Pokémon story)

"Oh, boy!" I said to myself. "This looks exciting already!" I pressed the A-button, and the screen changed.
OPTION
I, obviously, chose the NEW GAME option, since I really wanted to start playing. I skipped through most of Oak's dialogue, until the screen changed again.
I decided to be unoriginal, and named him RED. Back then, I didn't actually know this was his name, and I named him that because the game was called RED version. I skipped some dialogue, and a box appeared on the side of the screen.
NEW NAME
GARY
BLUE
JOHN
I chose BLUE, because I had already named my character RED. There was more dialogue that I didn't bother to read, and then my character shrank down in size. I appeared in the middle of a room, with a bed, a tv, a game console, and some other things. Truth to be told, I don't think I need to explain all this. I went downstairs, I walked out of the house, I went into the lab, came back out, and then I tried leaving. Then, Oak stopped me and told me to follow him. The dialogue said this was the part where I get to pick my first Pokémon. Neat! I checked them all out. Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander. I chose Charmander, and my rival picked Squirtle. Then, as I was about to leave, he challenged me to a battle! "My first battle!" I thought. I beat him, and then went out of the lab. My adventure was finally starting!
I played the game all day for an entire week, getting better at battles every day, and I finally managed to beat the Champion. At first, I didn't expect the Champion to be my rival, because I was expecting the Champion to be someone way cooler, but he managed to put up quite a fight. When I beat him, I cried tears of joy. I had finally beaten the game! I went to the hall of fame, and looked at the Pokémon that I had used.
I was proud of myself. Really proud. I stopped playing the game for a while, because I got some more games from my parents. I put the POKÉMON RED cartridge in the box, and left it there for a few days.
Three days had passed since I last played the game. I found out that some kids at my school loved Pokémon, too. They said that you could trade Pokémon with friends, which I didn't know. I said that maybe I could bring the game to school, and we could trade.
Tha night, I looked around my room, trying to find the box that contained the cartridge. Under the bed? No. Closet? No. Drawers? No. Anywhere? No. I looked around the entire house, and I didn't find the box. It was just then that I realized.
Feedback is appreciated, by the way. I'd love to hear what you all think about the story.
I came back to my house, and went to sleep. I had a weird dream. I dreamt that a kid was looking for me, but he couldn't find me. Well, everyone has weird dreams every now and then, right?
The next morning, I got out of bed and walked downstairs.
"Hi, mom!" I greeted my mother. Oddly enough, she didn't respond. "Mom? Is everything okay?" No response.
Something was not right. My mother would never ignore me like that. She sighed, and then she started talking. "It sure has been a while since Red came to visit... I hope he's okay..."
A while? But I was there! Right next to her! I decided to go out. Why would my mom ignore me like that? Maybe she was pulling a prank on me. I decided to pay Professor Oak a visit, and see how he was doing.
"Hey, Prof! How are you?" I greeted, as I walked into his lab. He just stood there, and didn't pay attention to me. "...Oak?" At this point, I was worried. Why was everyone acting like I wasn't there? I decided to go out, and I walked down a path full of tall grass. Wild Pokémon didn't pay attention to me, either. Now, this was strange.
"Not even wild Pokémon pay attention to me... Something must be going on." I saw a wild PIDGEY not too far away from me. I got closer, and closer to it, and I tried to touch it. Suddenly, I felt... weird. I felt as if something was not right. I looked at my hand, but the thing I saw wasn't my hand. It didn't even look like a hand at all. It looked blocky and weird. Kind of like when one of those old video games would start to glitch. Why was this happening? I was still dreaming, that's for sure.
Or, at least, I thought I was.
I tried doing a lot of things to help me wake up. Splashing water in my face, pinching my arm, and even punching myself.
Nothing worked.
"Is... Is this real? It doesn't look like it, but I'm afraid that it might be real..."
I walked around for a little while, hoping that I would 'wake up.'
But I never did.
I fell down to my knees, and I started crying.

"Can you believe this is happening to you?" I asked myself, wondering why this was happening to me.
"I can't believe it. I REFUSE to believe it. This can't really be happening." I answered my own question. I stopped walking, and sat down to rest for a while.
"...Ugh, what's the point of living in this world if I can't do anything? What's the point of being champion, even? The champion who no one knows exist. What a nice title to have."
I felt as if everything I ever did was in vain.
That's great, is it not? To have all of your effort taken away by some weird phenomenon, or whatever this was.
Then I realized who I really was. I was a champion, after all.
I was the Champion of Nothingness.
