Chimelings, in their most simplest form, are lesser ghosts or wisps. These wisps, often imbued with elemental powers, posses bells, or chimes. With their weak power, they create themselves a physical form! These forms can have many different body shapes and traits, but some traits are specific to the type of wisp that possessed the chime. As an examples, Will o' Wisps, imbued with flaming energy, have more flamboyant and floaty features, like long, wisping tails. Chimelings are only a couple inches long, and can fit in the palm of your hand.
The chimes themselves that the spirits manifest themselves in can also vary greatly. The chime's design, shape, color, and even sound that they make can be all different. Like a golden, ornate chime, with a bright and shrill ring, or a simple, silver one with a beautiful, echoing ring. Most chimes have small pieces of fabric wrapped around the ring, where a string or handle would usually be. Chimelings use these as 'ears' though sometimes they dont have much control over them, as they are just pieces of pretty fabric.
